Finding the oldest Assyrian Music Record

Finding the oldest known Assyrian music record, we believe it dates to 1917. Produced in USA, Sung by Joseph Yonan and his Wife Anna Yonan, both born in Persia, Yonan was born about 1893, and his wife about 1897, we believe they may have released 4 consecutive records, I managed to locate 3 of these 78 rpm Gramophone records. All were released on (Assyrian Records) Label. If any one has more information about these records or any other old Assyrian records please let us know, contact me or contact my dear friend Abboud Zeitoune the author of the first discography book on Assyrian music, he is gathering as much information as possible on Assyrian records to document them in his upcoming (2nd) book, which will hopefully be released next year.

[size=12pt]This is the photo of the couple with their dog in front of their home in new Britain-US, it is mentioned that he was an electrician by trade but doesn't say anything about their singing or records. (source: assyrians of new Britain, photo book).
 
That is amazing, thanks for sharing Moneer and look forward to this book! Glad someone is interested and dedicated this much to our music. And nice to know that the first Assyrian album is almost one century old.

Thank you, yes that's right very soon we could celebrate one century of Assyrian Music. Actually a friend here in Sydney mentioned that to me and said he might do a segment on Radio to celebrate this occasion. I always say who knows what is out there? recently we thought the oldest was 1929 now we went back to 1917, I know of another Assyrian singer who released a record or two in 1912 ?! but only in Turkish and Kurdish not in Assyrian.
