This thread is to quote famous and classical lines from your favorite Assyrian songs. Actually the song doesn't even have to be favorite, but the line or piece of the song is.

I have been listening to a lot of Evin Agassi lately, and my God, almost everyone of his lines from his old songs are quotable.

I will start with one:

Song: Taqtaqta d'Tara (Door Knock)
Year: 1993
Line: "Libie men 75, hal 100 w 200 momteelakh" : You have raised my heart beat from a healthy and noram 75 beats per minute to as high as 100 and even 200.

Absolutely amazing for an Assyrian song.

Song: Nora Aldeyana
Year: 1995
Line: "Ya Nora Aldeyana" : "Oh you manipulative Mirror"

Another great line, and amazing usage of irony, and symplism.

Those are awesome.

Song: ?? Help me out here
Singer: Charles Touma
Line: "Hoya napasee kharetah, qatakh b'shadrinna"

"If it was my last breath, I'd send it to you"

Song: Shishilta
Singer: Evan Agassi
Line: Vai al den khakma diryeh sleewa l'qdaleh, eena m'orkha d'msheekha pteelonah baaleh"

"Woe to those who have draped crosses around their necks, but turned their backs from Christ's path"

Khas, absolutely love the second one from Evin, and would have used it sooner or later.

Please provide a translation for those who don't understand the words.

Doesn't "aldiyana" mean "deceiving"?

"Oh deceitful mirror"?

Azat qam shoqinnakh, akhchee d makhbatwalee

Khagah preshlakh minnee

In English (translation may not be 100% accurate):

For you, my beloved, I left paradise
I felt free after I left you, except that you still loved me

You only left me once
You started to fall for someone else
And thus I lost paradise because of you
