Dissapointing news out of Sweden

First off, can someone confirm this and tell me details? Cheers!

When I was in Sweden not too long ago, I was told by one of the members of the youth club there that the "Syrianska" people (Arameans) had gathered together all their organizations into a conference. The sole purpose?

HOW TO HALT/STOP/DESTROY THE RISING ASSYRIANISM IN SWEDEN.

So you see, we can bicker and argue all we want about anything, but we have some other serious issues at hand too across the globe. We have our Mar Dinkha/Mar Bawai argument as well as our Assyrian/Chaldean/ChaldoAssyrian matters and they got similiar and more disheartening matters like the oromoyeh!

Again, if you're from Sweden and know more, please share. Cheers!

I am sure Danny (although from Holland) will be here soon to confirm that this, in fact, is true. Sad indeed. They think that by "destroying" our nationalism, it'll help purify their own. Sound familiar?

man these Arameans are the most arrogant bunch of people i have ever seen.
they call themselves Suroyoyoyyoyoyoyos but say they are Aramean lol wtf.
I dont know i will never know.

Nasha there are three types of that

1. The Suryoye(Suraye) who say we are Assyrians
2. The Suryoye who say we are just Suryoye i.e. neutral
3. The Suryoye who say we are Arameans.

Its nothing new that the arameans are trying to blow up the Assyrian Nationalism, they always complain against newagencies, goverments etc. who mentions Assyrians, but they like to Dance Kurdish and even let their singer sing kurdish.

They will just destroy their movement, because what they do is nothing just complaining about Assyrians.

yeah khon i know im just referring to the Arameans, as i have said before West Assyrians are the most patriotic i love what they are doing in Europe and the Arameans can not stop this movement.

haha man. Who ever calls himself Suraya/Suroyo (including Chaldeans and Syriacs) is an Assyrian. People have told me that the term Suraya is "Syriac speaking Christian". That's incorrect. Suraya comes from the word Ashuraya (or Atoraya). These Arameans have no solid proof in saying we are not Assyrians. It's really pathetic, they're main excuse is that we were called "Assyrians" by the British Missionaries when they came to Assyria during the 19th century. If you see their intention in doing so, it's for political gain. They need more people for their population to gain more rights in Syria.

lol I'm still waiting for an email response from them guys on aram-naharaim website for more than a year now. They've been taught to say we are not Assyrians, but when you hit them with the facts, they'll act childish

First Amendment - Freedom of Speech and Thought, man!  Especially with a subject like this.

Freedom of speech is not known by them. There used to be a forum in this website www.suryoye.de, everything which was pro assyrian was delted or not puplished(same thing).

Their only aim/goal is to destroy the Assyrian Nation, I know they wont succeed and will even drive themselves into their ruine, but we can no longer tolerat such things.

The stop our work towards an unite. For example our people back home are slaughtered, forced out of their homes, raped of their human rights and what those people have to do is to compalin about the "pseudo assyrians".

You can not clear everything up with freedom of speech.

Btw. the website wont have any forum anymore loool...Assyrians complained to the Server who provieded the site the forum and they shut it down  :giggle:

Well this is the first time I heard this ting. But again like the others said it is nothing new. Like I said many times before. Their main goal in life is to destroy Assyrianism. That is their main goal and nothing else.

But waleeta there is indeed freedom of speech but this is racism and a kind of zionism. Just like those anti jew website by nazi's

Some racism is protected, as is Zionism.

My point is - while what they say is hurtful to us - what can we do to stop them from spreading ideas that we are trying to "Assyrianize" them?  They are obviously free to believe they are Aramaens, of course, and they can attack our point of view.  The best way to defeat lies is with truth.

Just be "more right" than them - in the words of my brother:  Pretty soon you'll be building faster than they can destroy.

We just need to have a ton of Assyrian babies (with Assyrian names), seriously, Phiro and I had a plan for this. Oh, and of course it involved a lot of sex, so I'm sure it would spread like wildfire. For every Assyrian who doesn't call himself/herself an Assyrian, we need ten of the "real" ones, like us, who do. So yea, we have a lot of "work" ahead of us. Yay.

I'm an Assyrian from Sweden. Well, yes and no. The good news is, that many Syriacs in Sweden, are opening their eyes. Some of them have actually bothered to check up facts, and realised, that they are indeed, Assyrians.

However, the narrow-minded Syriacs, are still claiming that they are Aramaeans (they're not) and they are still fighting over it. In S?dert?lje, where most Assyrians live, a lot of the Assyrians there who identify as "Suryoyo Oromoyo," have basically ruined our chances of setting up another Seyfo monument. They refused to have Assyrian attached on it. It's all about their stupid pride.

The irony is, they refuse to realise that Suryoyo means Assurayu. Somehow, they have managed to brainwash themselves into believing that Suryoyo means Oromoyo. Screw that. We are Suryoyo Othuroyo!

And no one likes these Syrianer. Well, perhaps that's an exaggeration, but a lot of Swedes, in particular in S?dert?lje, are quite irritated and fed up at them. These Syrianer are only embarrassing us, with crime, asshole behaviour, etcetera.

Shan "the man" Atci, a Kurdish stand up comedian in Sweden, ridiculing Syrianer and their moron behaviour:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iffLdFBonnA

Say what you want about Kurds, but that was spot on. He's basically making fun out of them for how stupid they are, when picking fights with people over stupid ****. Here's a real situation example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83qOawf6VTw

They actually film quarrels they start with people and spread them on the internet. Idiots.

You know, they're such an embarrassment to our Assyrian nation. We are the same people though, and we're all Suraya/Suroyo. We Assyrians are trying, patiently to explain to them, that we are the same people, and that we should stop fighting and unite our people as Assyrians. But they refuse to listen and they have this weird obsession with Aram, son of Noah of the Bible. They are also very anti-Assyrian, many of them. Can you imagine that? Self-loathing Assyrians. However, many of them are also on good terms with Assyrians.

Oh and by the way, in case you don't know, 90% of all Assyrians in Sweden, belong to the Syriac Orthodox Church. It's just that in Sweden, the Aramaeanism mental disease has infected many Suryoye in the Syriac Orthodox Church. But on the other hand, you'll find some of the most nationalistic Assyrians in the Syriac Orthodox Church in Sweden.

So it's not a case where the Assyrians are only members of the Church of the East, but in this case, it's Assyrians from the same Church fighting with each other over a damn ethnic name.

Oh and by the way:
http://www.arameiska.se/Aram_Baryamo/Historia/Assyriens-undergang.htm

They're spreading lies and propaganda of how the Assyrians were "wiped out." Can you imagine that? They discard their own heritage because of some weird obsession with this obscure Aram-dude.

Sometimes, I wish our forefathers never assimilated Aramaeans into the Assyrian empire. We wouldn't speak a dialect of Aramaic today and we wouldn't have this problem.

thanks for your post Alucard i learned something today.
So the Arameans hate Assyrians we know this, they are less productive in Aramean issues for what ever they are then interfering with Assyrian issues and being anti-Assyrian. They don't believe in the holocaust?
if this is true could the Turkish government be responsible for this?

They are not "Aramaeans," they are Assyrians who believe they are Aramaeans. It's more like, wishful thinking than an actual ethnicity. It's very similar to the Assyrian versus Chaldeans issue in America, but I would say these Aramaeanists are far worse. Thankfully though, they only number a few thousand and exist basically only in Europe (Germany, Netherlands and Sweden) and to some minor extent in Lebanon (they have a political party over there no one cares about, see link here: http://www.aramaic-dem.org/English/0.htm ). Most of these "Aramaeans" are religious fanatics and the reason they want to believe they are Aramaeans is because Jesus spoke a dialect of Aramaic. Here's an example:

http://www.chaldeanchat.net/forums/showpost.php?p=214499&postcount=17

Pathetic. They feel extra holy by spreading these lies. And believe me, I hear that stuff every now and then in Sweden. The funny part is, in the same Assyrian family you can find one brother saying he's "Aramaean" and his other brother saying he's Assyrian.

Its so interesting that you say that i meet a family like that a few months ago a lady said she was Syrian from Turkey and her nephew would say he was Assyrian from Turkey.
Ive asked a family, friends, historians etc and no one really knows or can give a straight answer as how did this split come of age? who started it? how did it start? we know that the Chaldean issue started in the 1500 when there was a church split, but how did this aramean issue begin?

Also many people say that there is no one in the middle east who calls himself a aramean but my friend recently came back from Syria and he told me there are villages where they say they are arameans
also see the below link many people say that the aramean flag does not exist in the middle east but this is also not true. There is alot of confusion regarding arameans.

Most definitely. I will start a real thread about this issue later. The Turks are very much involved in this. Don't know if it's the govermenment, but they do have some involvement in it. But it's not just the Turks, the Kurds and Arabs are also partially responsible for this.

They are spreading it actively from Europe into the Middle East. 100 years ago, no one in the Middle East called themselves "Aramaeans." It started in the 1970's with Assyrian immigrants into Sweden from Turkey. They were members from the Syriac Orthodox Church, and they founded the soccer team Assyriska FF. Shortly afterwards, a new wave of Assyrian immigrants from Turkey arrived and founded the soccer team Syrianska FC.

Yes, Jerusalem, they have managed to infect. There's an Assyrian convent in Jerusalem which was set up by the Syriac Orthodox Church during the early 20th century, which they've now managed to change into an Aramaeanist convent.

They actually got very cocky after they won two games in a row this year. They are very brainwashed though, indoctrinated with Church propaganda of how evil the Assyrians were (you know, the old testament doesn't exactly favour us). Most of these Aramaeanists haven't actually bothered to check up real facts, they just listen to what their priests tell them. And they revere their priests so much, it's close to worship.

My cousin in America has recently fallen for this Arameanist B.S. and he now thinks he's an Aramaean too. He wasn't like that a few years ago.

In Sweden, we call them "the Birds" after their flag.

Alucard, ahferem :D. Very well said and I agree of course with all the things you say.
This thing in Sweden is a lot worser than here in the Netherlands.

But what funny is that a lot of Assyrians don't like Suryoyo Sat ( the so called Aramean channel). No wonder because of all their hate. And they Bishop Al Sadr ( Benjamin Atas) has also a lot of influence. He just scares me when I see him. And of course he wont show on Suroyo TV because he says we are Arameans.

Are you sure about that?

http://www.aramnahrin.org/

I would say it's worse in the Netherlands. Though we probably have more of these Aramaeanists here in Sweden, they are however very degenerate many of them and into crime and stuff like that. Not all, of course, but they're not exactly the holy saints they portray themselves as.

Suryoyo Sat is lame. There was a debate recently on Suroyo TV about our ethnic name and the representatives from Suryoyo Sat kept reusing lame arguments like "BUT OUR PRIEST HAVE SAID WE'RE ARAMEANS!" They are so ignorant and don't care about historical accuracy, only what their priest tells them. And yes, they are full of hate. They are to us, what Fred Phelps is to Americans. I call them Oromoyo fanatics.

Update:
http://www.aftonbladet.se/stockholm/article787223.ab

Two of Syrianska's soccer players beat up a referee. See what I'm talking about? We Assyrians, have to deal with these jackasses every day here in Sweden, and Assyrians are getting hated for what they do because Syrianer are the same ethnic group as us.

They are a disgrace to our people.

Yes, they are against freedom of speech, because they know the Aramaeanist agenda is false. On http://www.suryoyozone.com/ (a Syriac-Aramaeanist community) they censor everything about Assyrians and the truth of our people.

Suraya and Suroyo (also pronounced Suryaya and Suryoyo) are both derived from the old Akkadian name Assurayu. It's just the A that has been dropped.

lol, I sent them an email a few months ago, and told them basically to just knock this lame crap of, because it's just stupid and they're embarrassing themselves with their conspiracy theories. This is the response I got:

"Go to your criminal, satanic and evil western spiritual forefathers who have invented you. You are their spiritual children. And don't bother us with your myths and legends regarding the origin of our nation!"

My first thought was that they are schizophrenic.

Well, it's a form of racism, yes, but ironically, a self-hating racism. Because let's face it, they do hate their own Assyrian race. And while you're right that their main motivation is to destroy Assyrian nationalism, it's not exactly like that. Some of them, actually just believe they are Aramaeans (after a lot of brainwashing, of course) and they are on friendly terms with Assyrians. For instance, my best friend, is a Suryoyo Oromoyo :)

http://sv.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Assyrier&oldid=4451842

They didn't cite any sources, they just wrote a lot of historically inaccurate lies and made things up, etcetera. I decided enough is enough, and took over the article, began citing academic sources, and rewrote the entire article. It's in much better shape now:

http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assyrier

And the Swedish Wikipedia admins are keeping a close watch after any Oromoyo fanatics after that incident.
