Inter striker Diego Milito gave Argentina a scare on Thursday by limping out of a training session in Pretoria with a knock to his right ankle. Albiceleste officials later confirmed that Milito had suffered a sprain, although they were at pains to point out the injury was a light one.
The injury is a setback for Milito, who will need every minute possible to impress national coach Diego Maradona and secure one of the coveted starting forward spots. Competition for these positions is fierce; as well as World Player of the Year Lionel Messi, Argentina can also count on the talents of Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez of Manchester City and Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid - not to mention veteran Martin Palermo, the hero in a tortuous qualifying campaign.
The Inter forward pushed himself to the forefront during the Italian club's treble-winning season, culminating in a man of the match display and two vital goals in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
