Did you vote? Post pictures, comments, observations here ...

Me: "Did you vote?"
Majority of Assyrians: "What's it got to do with me?"
Me: *pulls hair out*

Actually, for this one, you should pull their hair when they say it, not yours. And hard please! LOL

Bro, because of how far it is, and having to pick up people from different locations, I drove back and fourth 4 times. So I helped close to 50 people or so vote.

That is just me. We had a total of 15 buses, and some guys went more than me. So just with the buses in one day, we got over 600 people voting.

And there was lots, and I mean looooooooooots of Assyrians driving. It was just so nice to see. I am telling you, I have never seen Assyrians so determined. I can bet you those who will not vote will be a small minority. I saw almost everyone of my relatives there, and I am making more phone calls tonight to people to make sure they vote. We won't leave anyone, go after them all.

Tomorrow, we go back at it again, so excited :)

You should see the Assyrian flag that was on our car, so many other Assyrians were cheering us and honking when seeing us on the highway.

ASHOOR

Good on you guys!

Haha, that's the spirit! Although... you really did miss out on the finger painting. I've been waving my index finger in the air for 2 days.

Today I rounded up 5 family members and took them all to vote.

Waited in line for 2 hours for them to vote. There were massive lines from morning to evening and the polling station would stay open after 6. I cant tell you how many people had voted today but it was beggining to reach in the thousands today. Amazing.

Composition of voters: 60% Assyrian (40% Chaldean, 20% Nestorian) and the remainder were Arabs (Shia). I was completely amazed so see so many people waiting in line for hours without water and in the heat just to vote.

I know people in iraq that can get you documents it will just cost u money

I took me quite literally 4.5 hours to vote.  I had my dad's US issued passport that said he was born in Iraq and his baptism papers from our church in chicago that said he was born in Iraq. There was only one voting location in all of the chicago-land area and it was the size of my living room. I waited 2.5 hours outside in on and off rain until I finally got inside the place.  Then I had to argue with about a dozen people for two hours before I got anywhere (which was only made possible by a fellow avner).  It was incredibly frustrating but ultimately gratifying.

I just came back after a long day if driving people to vote.

This will go down as one of the best and proudest Assyrian day in my life. We has the time of our life.

I took pictures and videos of the crazy celebrations we had outside. It was so exciting and fun to see. Even others were impressed with how many Assyrians showed up. I would probably say there was as much if not more Assyrians voting than Kurds or Arabs.

We just got an official tally of all the voted that were cast in Toronto alone, and they were about 5000. We are hoping that 50 to 60% of them were Assyrians.

We also got the total of all votes in London On and it was 1050 or so. We are hoping another few hundreds of these were Assyrians.

I am still waiting for Hamilton and Windsor numbers, and the other less significant cities all across Canada.
