Went to vote today with khas, Pumpkin and other relatives.

Polling station was quiet. The Kurds and Arabs who were working were highly imcompetant and one was basically illiterate and had to be removed from his post by a relative of mine who took over his duties because he had difficulty understanding what to do. Many employees were Chaldean Catholics but refused to speak Assyrian when I spoke Assyrian to them and spoke English or Arabic instead.

Many people who I saw outside and inside voting were Assyrians but small numbers. Outside Zowaa and one of the Chaldean parties were campaigning but Zowaa had a stall set up with music playing. Most of the campaigning was old men sitting around talking though  :ROFLMAO:.

It is noteworthy that I and the males in our group were frisked and security checked while the females were not.

I was going to open a similar topic, so I think it would be a good idea to move this to the Chit Chat section so more people see it and get inspired?

Guys, three things to make sure you bring with you:

1-A Camera to take a picture of your finger and other voting scenes you may want to share

2- People in the car. Don't go to the election center just by yourself in the car. Make sure you fill your car to the max.

3-And most importantly, the a print-out of the following, so people know how to vote (otherwise, their ballot could be voided)

Since I can not able to vote I called my Iraqi friend that can able to vote for me since he not Assyrian, but he very pro-Assyrian.

I have gigs all over this weekend so unfortunately i cannot vote, but i have been spreading around my whole family and telling them where to go to vote.

I wish great success to us all in the polls! Let our voices be heard...
 
ok so my aunt just called me after she voted and said that they will not accpet an american passport that says born in iraq.  :ban:

they want id's or passports from back home or papers that say where u were born in iraq anything from back home even if its old take it with u to vote

this is bullshit

Guys in order to stop the mahana of the election people tell everyone you know to take any of the following:

Iraqi passport, citizenship card, food ration card, UN documents, red cross documents, birth certificate, baptism certificate and as many Documents from the country in which you reside.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I think the baptism certificate is useless, cause if they are muslims who are working there they wouldn't accept that, and they will give you a hard time.

There seems to be massive voting trouble in USA and some parts of Europe. I reccomend people take as many documents as possible, as many as they have. 1, 2, 5 or 10! Whatever they have. And if they try to stop you from voting and you have the legitimate right to vote you should make a big deal of it and cause a scene ... make a commotion in order that they do not take away your voting rights.
 
I voted today.. about 2 hours ago in London, ON.

I'm glad to report that there were alot of assyrians there. I met some people from windsor too.

I have one meshulmenta friend that saw me there and said... "dude is all of Assyria here or what?" LOL it made me laugh and proud.

They acceped my canadian passport that said "born in Baghdad, Iraq" and my Ontario driver's license.



 
I voted today! I can't post a picture on here because I inked my middle finger (that way, I could really show the Kurds I voted, if you know what I mean). :lol:

OMG THAT IS awesome Ashuriena, thanks for not giving up. Love the great Assyrian spirit in our people this year and not giving up at all.

Mo khena bayet, you get to vent on the first day and give them sh't and still get to vote on the second day hahahahaha.

What is coming on Day 3??? Surprise? ;)

My day started at 5:30 AM and ended at 6:30 PM.

Drove so many people to the voting center, along with 14 other drivers (each car takes 10 passengers)

I voted and I am so happy I did.

The best thing about today was that there was soooo many Assyrians voting. Probably more than Arabs and Kurds too. Amazing scene. Unlike 2005, when not a lot of people bothered to show up.

It is almost becoming like a sin or a crime if someone doesnt vote. People are looking at others and seeing how they are voting, and are feeling bad or left out for not voting, so they are deciding to join too.

Tomorrow is the final day and we are hoping to get hundreds more vote.

I will post more pictures and notes later.

HAHAHAHAHA! I was determined! And CBS interviewed me about what the situation was. They spoke to me for a good 20 minutes.

San Diego Assyrians...I'll be on channel 8 tonight! Hahahaha!

Bro, because of how far it is, and having to pick up people from different locations, I drove back and fourth 4 times. So I helped close to 50 people or so vote.

That is just me. We had a total of 15 buses, and some guys went more than me. So just with the buses in one day, we got over 600 people voting.

And there was lots, and I mean looooooooooots of Assyrians driving. It was just so nice to see. I am telling you, I have never seen Assyrians so determined. I can bet you those who will not vote will be a small minority. I saw almost everyone of my relatives there, and I am making more phone calls tonight to people to make sure they vote. We won't leave anyone, go after them all.

Tomorrow, we go back at it again, so excited :)

You should see the Assyrian flag that was on our car, so many other Assyrians were cheering us and honking when seeing us on the highway.
