Deleted threads....

Hi, I don't really care if you guys delete threads or not but could you guys (mods/admins) atleast have the decency to PM the author that it was deleted, or atleast let it show but have it locked?

I'm honeslty getting fed up with this crap.. Sometimes I'll be looking for a thread and I wont find it, so I run a search, look through diffrent pages, use the buttons Ctrl + F to find a thread but it doesnt show up. So I think i'm losing it before I find out it was deleted.

1. why can't you guys just lock the thread?

2. If one of my threads was deleted, can you atleast PM me with a reason as to why? Recently one of my threads got deleted and I didn't even get a PM. I just let it go.

I just killed myself looking for a thread that magically disappeared so thats why I'm posting this.

If you are wondering, none of these were spam.. 1 could have been a little, but I don't think it was.

Ninos, was this in Chit-Chat? Can you tell me the title of the thread?  I'll try to find out what happened.

This was probably 4 days ago

I posted a thread with a youtube video.. I think the title was "achmed the terrorist"
 
I can't find it either.  I do think it's a good idea to let authors of posts know if their thread has been deleted/moved.  Hopefully another mod or Ashoor will see this and respond.

:hmmm:  i dont believe i deleted it  :blink:

i wasnt on on friday afternoon or all weekend.. so if it happened then.. i dunno who did it
 
I check the assyrian youtube section too.. nothing there.

I'm not mad at all... I'm just trying to get the point across that if a thread is deleted, there should be a reason PM'ed to the author.

Ninous, totally understand your question here. But it is not easy for mods to Pm every member with every action we take regarding their posts. If mods have enough time to do it, good for them, I encourage them to do it. I myself do a lot of private communication with my members, including for reasons of telling them what I did to their thread. But it is not possible at all the times, especially when you are doing house cleaning, with many threads to moderate/delete/modify.

As for your post, I deleted it. It was already posted somewhere else. There is no reason for me to post under it and say "this is posted somewhere else...i will delete it" what is the point, you won't even see it. And you weren't online to begin, to tell you.
