Dadisho's channel up for sale? (APRIL FOOLS :p )

Heard it through the grapevine but apparently Dadisho has lost a lot of money in this downturn and is looking at selling most if not all of the rights to AssyriaSAT. Any truth to this?
 
Why doesn't AshurTV make a bid? lol.

I really like the title 'AssyrianVoice TV' because it doesn't just represent AssyrianVoice as a website, but it can mean 'A Voice for all Assyrians'

It is not difficult to have a TV station in Canada.  All you have to do is to file to CRTC your application.

The application is not that complicated.  The enemy of Assyria and Assyrian those Kurdish got two tv stations run from Canada, the Tukish also go their tv station run from Canada, and many other communities.  They are run in a format FTA (free to air) via satellite.

go to CRTC website and see the requirements.  (Type CRTC Canada)

It is not about getting the channel, like you said, it is not impossible. It is what you do with it once you have it. Do you the resources, programming and personnel to maintain it?

Right now, only our church or Zowaa/AAS have these.

Even if we get a 1 hour per week program, we will take it.

If this were true, everyone here in the Modesto region would be celebrating it.  Don't worry about the money, they get funded from the same people that fund Ishtar, so they won't be selling anything anytime soon.

Well that explains why you're so hateful. 

And where do you think AssyriaSad gets their money from?  Let me break it down for you:  It costs about $50,000/month to operate their satellite.  Bet-Nahrain has very little activities to help support their tv.  They have bingo, which today brings in very little as there are bingo halls everywhere these days (ever since it became legal for native Americans to operate them.)  They have some parties, very few weddings (most people here prefer Civic Club, and now the new ACOE hall.)  They have telethons every now and then, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that they don't collect most of what is pledged.  So here are the hard facts -- they get funded by the same people funding Ishtar tv.  Hence their constant praise of Aghajan and lately even qurdayeh.

It is interesting to read your last few lines about the praise for Aghajan by AssyriaSat and Sargon Dadesho, I noticed it too. And I am hearing people saying that they do get funding from them too.

It is amazing how some people and organizations can flip flop so easily, and change their position on things with a few cents...

Millions! :blink: Damn son! I didn't know we had that many Assyrians! I know we have like, at most 3 million Assyrians scattered. Didn't know all of them were able to receive Satalite and watch Dadisho's show. Impressive.

I wouldn't mind millions of Assyrians watching AssyriaSAT, problem is, we don't have that many to begin with :giggle:

Is AssyrianSat the one with the old man sitting behind a desk talking and answering phone calls the whole time? We don't have satellite at my house but when I'm at my grandma's and flipping through channels I have seen it a couple of times. The program itself is so boring. I could never watch it more than a minute unless they are playing a song.

The best is the really old man who's the DJ for their channel. He just plays music and we sit and watch him the whole time....lol

Yeah it is so weird! I could never enjoy the song because of him. Can't they atleast show the music video and if there is no music video for that song show something else?

Sometimes I have a hard time understanding him. To many dialects in my brain. lol
 
That fool seems like he's getting broke. Before, he'd put on reruns all night and now, if you flip through late at night, he has nikhrayeh that buy some of the time slots. Plus, all his other money is being spent maintaining that brush fire he calls hair. So, I wouldn't be surprised.

Talk about a brush fire for hair. Also, someone told me the murderous nephew is the beginning. An actual Assyrian told me his dad was a beggar and his grandfather a serial killer. Not sure how true the claims are.

Meh, don't worry about the money part.  They'll hold another telethon so all the senior citizens in Turlock and Modesto can donate to help them out.  You should hear some of them trying to defend them -- "la, la, it wasn't him, there was someone else there!"  They'll probably blame Yonadam Kanna for the killing as well.
