I am literally praying for Obama to fail. Sorry to ruin your celebratory thread.
HAHA.
For me, and as mad as hell I am for all the idiots that booed Bush yesterday (how embaressing for America, booing a former president at such an important even where the whole world is watching) I wish him success.
I have come to the conclusion, and regardless of his ideals and what he belongs to, it is almost impossible to hate this man (Obama) He is very humble, gracious and overall nice. But of course, we all know that won't do when it comes to leading a country, which starts today.
A lot of people are convinced that there is a lot of hope in him, and he may not be able to deliver. And let us not kid ourselvs, we know it won't be possible. But I have on hope: given all the hope and faith that people have in this man, that could in itself create a postitive feeling and energy for people to work together, all of which will lead to positive things in the future.
His speech yesterday was pretty good, but at the same time, it was what a lot of America's enemies wanted to hear: he did show toughness, but he also showed a willingness to back down. Hoping that regimes like Iran, North Korea etc. will play nice is a false hope. Soon Americans will realize that Bush wasn't acting tough because he liked to. It is because the world is full of idiots and the only way to deal with them is through power.
Europe has been negotiating with Iran for close to 6 years now, during which Iran has gotten closer and closer to building their nuclear bomb. That tells you where negotiation with such regimes will get you. I don't want a war, but let us see what other options you will have with such regimes. Bush had it right. You will see.
Best to Obama. The celebration is over. Now get to work!
