Christian population in Australia: 88% in 1966, 73% in the 1986 census, 61% in the 2011 census, and 52% in the 2016 census.

?No religion? in the Census has now overtaken the number of Catholics. It?s the first time in Australia?s history the number of people who claim ?no religion? has overtaken Catholics.

The latest Census drop showed those ticking ?no religion? rose from 22.6% to 29.6%? nearly double the 16% in 2001.

The Australian census was a joke.  According to figure, Darwin is the fastest growing city in Australia when in fact, it isn't.

Plus the religious question.  There was a scare campaign before the census that made people believe that they need to choose Christian to stop Muslims from getting their religious holidays.  As a result, I am adamant that the "No Religion" percentage is a lot higher than reported and the Christian percentage is lower than reported.

True, we are the fastest growing middle eastern group in Melbourne but not Sydney.

We had a lot of Syrian Assyrians coming to Sydney in the past few years.
