Christian Lifestyle Views

A Christian lifestyle is a way of living every moment of our lives with Jesus Christ at the very center of our lives. It is easy to say, but difficult to do. We cannot put Christ at the very center without denying ourselves, putting aside some of our own inclinations and desires. Jesus made harsh comments about people putting family ahead of the kingdom of God.
A Christian lifestyle is one that sees each person as a sister or brother in Christ. It is a lifestyle in which prejudices, generalizations, stereotypes, and labels disappear. We are freed by the grace of God, to see each person as a unique child of God who is loved, sustained and redeemed by God and worthy of a place in eternity.  This life is one in which values, decisions, and choices reflect the presence of Christ. Some decisions are clearly right or wrong, clearly in accord with the way of Christ or clearly contrary to the will of the Lord.

I agree with your post!  You should read the book, "the new seeds of contemplation" by thomas merton.  It speaks of what you just wrote about.  And as for the Christian lifestyle being hard to, you are very correct, but Jesus in the New Testament told us so.  It is so easy to be tempted by worldly things, but we must remember our purpose on this earth:  to live like Jesus and practice his teachings.  To be like Christ is to be with Christ, and since God has written himself on our hearts, we essentially ARE Christ!  It would be a shame to not honor Him and His infinite love which we are undeserving of.  We must be strong in our faith, and faith is action. Thus, love for Christ is also manifested through actions of love, compassion, and no judgment.  Jesus died for all of mankind, and we must remember that before we make rash judgments about others.  If God can forgive, why can't we?  We must remember that this life on earth is not the only one we will live, so we must remember to be Christ like and genuine in our faith and actions for when our time comes, we will be judged on what we have done and how we have treated others!  Keep the faith, and LIVE the faith!

I love this and I completely agree with both posts. There are too many people these days who say they are Christian but have nothing to show for it.

that's mainly because in our culture, We Inherit Christianity rather than live it for what it is. The idea is simple but the execution is mighty difficult, but if every Christian just lets go and rely on God to do the hard bit, it's not impossible. The Holy Spirit can change anyone and has changed the lives of thousands.
