Cars with Wifi: how does it work?

I had always thought wifi in cars would be very cool, mainly to be able to listen to online radio.

Lately, I have been seeing ads for new cars with wifi? does anyone know how does this work, what it costs etc? and what is the main use for it? navigation? online radio etc.? Does Rogers or Bell offer such a service?

If this takes off, do you think it will kill satellite radio?
