Multiculturalism may help in simplifying the complexity of the Canadian society, given all the hundreds of ethnicities and languages that exist here. But at the end of it all, something ties them all and that is called Canada. In fact, to some Canada is not pure enough, given its ties to Britain, and would like to cut loose from them, if Canada is truly to become a real nation.
So yes, multiculturalism is nothing more than a myth or a nice marketing ploy by Canada to show they are an open society.
Why are my views right?I never stated that literally, but if I didn't believe my views were right or made sense, you think I would be wasting my time here? There are laws, legislations, and terms that people coming to this country have to abide by. These define what each Canadian is entitled to, and they also set the limits as to what the restrictions are.
So it is one thing for you to believe that Canada doesn't have a rooted identity to begin with, and quiet another to follow the laws as to what is allowed and what is not. The latter is what matters, not what you believe should be the case. For me it is both the belief and the law.
This Indian MP should stop with his silly demand, or be kicked out of office. He is clearly being more loyal to India than he is to Canada and if that is the case, go back buddy.
Nothing wrong with being loyal to your country of origin and your current new country, but rules of the new country have to be respected, clear and simple.
Otherwise, you are opening a can of worms, given all the hundreds if ethnities we have here. There is multiculturalism for you ultoma. Not everyone appreciated it. Some, like this guy, will try to exploit it.
What is next on his list of demands? Put the Indian flag infront of the Parliament in Ottawa?
