awesome thanks for clearing that up, so do they speak assyrian or they have lost their native tongue? I meet a Syriani from Iraq a year ago
and he told me he knew he was Assyrian but he said he lost it but his parents spoke the language also he was from the Chaldean Church.
Do we have any ACOE churches left in Baghdad?

From what I have seen, the Syriac Orthodox from Iraq do speak Assyrian (east dialect), although the Syriac Catholic don't.

this is the first im hearing of a Syriac Catholic church ive heard of chaldean catholic , Syriac Orthodox but not Syriac Catholic.

It is not really the same, because they follow the same identity: to become christian arab. And in their small church they already reached this. In the Syria orthodox church its still a fight against the Arab identity, but we will see what they will reach in future.. btw, baghdeda is mostly syrian catholic..

Hi Guys,
Can anyone please give me the website address ( if known) to the  video footage of this horrible act while it was taking place inside the church, someone has watched it on facebook , but I can't seem to be able to find it, please give me information if anyone can. Thanks.

Is that why the head of Syriac Orthodox church changed his name from Assyrian to a Arab one, then went on to say "the blood that flows through my veins is arab"?

The attack against Saydet Al Najat church in Baghdad

if it doesnt link, copy and paste the link in a new page... it should work....

I don't know how anyone can see this video and not shed a tear.  It's one thing to read about it or even see the photos but when you view the video you are left speechless.  What a senseless loss of innocent life this was.  When the camera came around to the remains of that child, I nearly lost my breath.  God help these poor people!

By the way, more than a few of my own relatives got married at this church. I will try to find these pictures from inside the church and outside, dating back to 1985 or so.

VERY IMPORTANT, READ AND RELAY THIS TO EVERYONE!
Alright guys I am writing this from the army, i will copy it a little bit everywhere on the forum so no one misses it. This is the only time i have access to Internet, until 18th November, so i will be gone for a while and unfortunately miss all the action, so you guys will have to fill me in when i am back.

The INTERNET is a powerful tool, let us use it even more! I have been looking up what has happened everywhere since yesterday. I just want to say, DAMN! this has just started, the momentum is perfect, and WE MUST keep this thing going for a very long time. These protest and demonstrations can not stop, we must make sure that they continue for weeks if possible for months, if wee keep doing this at all the important government places and keep on showing that we are tired of all the **** that we have endured and make them understand that we wont stop until someone cares, sooner or later they will have to care.

Let us demonstrate and protest AT LEAST once a week, let us show them that we mean business, they will listen! We must make sure that all assyrians help out on this now, you must reach out to everyone and tell them this, everything that is going on right now is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we can not let it slip away. Everyone that is in contact with leaders and people who arrange these demonstrations must reach out to them and make sure this massage is being relayed. There are assyrians in all the bigger cities in Europe and north America, it is not so hard if everyone keeps on doing this together. so we have plenty of people, and many more will probably join us in our campaign, WE CAN NOT STOP! LET THIS GO ON FOR MONTHS!

So it is up to each one of you to do everything possible so that this thing will be successful, you must help in all possible ways and make sure others sees this as well...

31.10.2010 "Black Sunday" - Baghdad Church Massacre. We will never forget, we will not be silent!
LET US NOT STOP BROTHERS AND SISTER! LET US CONTINUE WITH OUR BLACK MARCHES

See you on the 18th when i am back, to do everything that is possible from the Internet and hopefully gather more people and join the demonstrations in Sweden. good luck until then...

I read on Rosie Malek Yonan's Facebook page today that one of the priests was beheaded during this attack.  She said she has seen video of this.  Has anyone else heard this or can confirm this information?

The demonstration in Gothenburg, Sweden gathered 2000 Assyrian protestors out of an Assyrian population of 3000-4000. US Americans need to be more patriotic and organised.
