Not sure if anyone else has talked about it, but Andre Anton's short documentary "Defying Deletion: The fight over Iraq's Nineveh Plains" won best documentary at the film festival in Michigan.

I wanted to congratulate Andre and the crew's tireless efforts to raise the plight of Assyrians in Iraq.

I had the privilage of seeing this movie and I have to say, it is truely a must see!

Well done Andre!

If anyone is keeping track, this is the second Assyrian documentary that has won an award at a film festival. The other one that I can recall is Nuri Keno's "Assyriska: A National Team Without a Nation" that won the Golden Palm Award at the Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Really? Never heard of this, and what a great news, thanks for sharing Enki! Couldn't be happier that a movie that can get us so much attention and recognition, has won such a major award. I would like to thank Anton for his great efforts, they have really paid off and hopefully more to come.

You missed out at the ACSSU Lecture Series. They had a screening of the movie.

Watch the second video on the link. It is Andre's acceptance speech.
