when I was 7, I was able to remember EVERY capital of every countries except for African nations excluding egypt.
I have multiple interests, I'm good at chess, checkers (many other board games), science, I'm doing graphics designing and I'm good at giving advice, I'm learning Zurna and an Ocarina, I'm going into engineering major, I'm good at language learning and soccer, and I do lack social abilities that are in the Dating/Relationships area.

I'm not sure what kind of response you're after, but social anxiety and similar is not a biggy. I know a lot of people with social disorders, in fact, I came home now from a beer n bowling night out with some friends and two of them spoke less than two sentences throughout six hours and were completely distant the whole time.

I can say to you that I'm introverted. My friends would not believe me if I said so but that's because I let go of it when I'm around people I know and feel confident around. Otherwise, in a large group of people I'm not completely familiar with, I'm more in a "why say something when they are already saying some things" mood, and shy and so on.

Tell us more about you. You got it diagnosed or is it a conclusion of your own?

I got it diagnosed, I even have a case of it in school. I don't think I'm Autistic, but I think I am due to the symptoms being very similar to my personality. I have many obsessive interests and have some inabilities to understand social situations, and it's hard for me to carry on a conversation sometimes often, because for some reason I get a mental block of what topics I can talk about. Here's what I find about Autism in Urban Dictionary

A condition characterized by obsessive interests and a lack of eye contact. Asperger Syndrome has many facets involving a difficulty in communication and inability to grasp social situations and body language. Sufferers report an interest in minor and trivial details, rather than being able to see the bigger picture. They also find 'small talk' difficult. Sufferers also get absorbed in their own head space and find relationships difficult. They also have a tendency to take words and phrases literally, e.g. If someone with Asperger's saw a sign in a telephone bill paying shop stating "cash point" the AS suffer would assume cash point meant an ATM cash machine and would go to draw money out of it.AS sufferers tend to prefer the company of pets and animals and shun the limelight. They can also have temper tantrums and indulge in activities called stimming which is hand flapping or other none verbal gestures such as finger flicking - sufferers of Asperger Syndrome do this when under stress or pressure.Asperger syndrome is a big subject and their are countless different personality types and subcategories of illness/condition.Sufferers are often referred to as eccentric or weird. Everyone with Asperger Syndrome is different. Asperger Syndrome is a form of Autism.

I wonder if I'm the first Autistic Assyrian...

I find alot of what American doctors diagnose to be BS and a reason to feed drugs into our bodies. When my brother was six they tried to say he had add and attempted to give him meds or school would kick him out.he was a normal boy and my mom tore them five new assholes for attempting to say a hyper kid is a disorder.two or there years later he was a normal kid and not too hyper.they didn't seem to consider he was a kid first year or two being away from home(mom, sisters, dad) all day.
Mr.I think you're fine you probably need to just go out more and try to talk, one step at a time. You might just be a genius :)

The cousin I live with has Asperger's and ADHD...he's 19 but mentally he's more like a 9 year old.  As he grows older, he seems to become more and more mean, though.  His mother and I think it's due to him feeling depressed and angry with how his life is.  He copes with things in different ways.  He does it by believing in an alternate universe called the magic dimension, says that he isn't full human, and that his Pikachu stuffed animal is his wife, which he has many children with...it breaks my heart to say that because he wasn't diagnosed with the asperger's til he was 16 he most likely won't have much of a future.  If something ever happened to his mom (God forbid) he'd end up in either a mental home or assisted living facility.  So, some cases of diagnoses are real, though all of them might not be. =(

I pray for all those and their families that have to go through these struggles, as well as anyone that deals with any type of ailment.

then why do I have nearly ALL the symptoms?

another explanation could be because I never had kids my age to play with (as my siblings were teenagers when i was born)
and that I was ostracized and stigmatized when Iraq War started all the way till sophomore year in high school....
not to mention the gruesome anti-intellectualism i experienced still elementary school....

however i still disagree, my brother is just like me, but he knows social rules and such

when my grandfather died, Towana Yonan (God rest his soul), I didn't cry, in fact you could've said that I didn't really care, that's another symptom of Autism (apathy). I completely understood he was dead but I felt like I didn't care. I was 8 at the time he died.

Nearly all symptoms? At writing moment, I'm very sick and I read an article about the symptoms of aids. I've got all but one, but do I have aids for that? No. Self-diagnosis isn't that reliable, it's mostly for hypochondriacs.

Dude, you were 8 years old. Would you react apathetically if a family member died at this age? (Knock on wood)

Just find yourself a new friend of opposite sex and start developing social skills :)

Don't worry man you are not different, and don't let anyone say anything else... I don't think you have any problems in social life. And even if you had, you can learn how to master the social skills, just like everything else, you just need practice... you will end up just fine.

I mean who cries at the age of 8 when someone dies? i have had many close ones to me, people that i really liked and loved, who died even my own grandfather. Yet i have never cried when someone died or when i am at the funeral.

Besides you seem to have a gift rather than problems...

all my friends are women and now people think gay cuz of that that.... I'm tired of having girls as friends. I'd rather have romance but I don't seem to understand the concept of it.

dude stop reading wikipedia!

Mr.Z I think you should stop think you're differnd than any other ppl. trust me, even the most extroverted womanizers do have their social insecurities, they just show in a differend way. I can assure you EVERYOne of us all does have somekind of "dissease" which is OK since we're human. we will never be perfect and that is why you should stop think too much about yourself. Just accept the fact that you do have certain strenghts and some very few weaknisses and trust me life will be much easier then.

Oh one more think...being 18 and not having a gf isn't that strange...i know men that haven't even touched a womans hand and their 35 or something...so 007 Bond you have all the time in the world

Who gives a shit, Albert Einstein is said to have had it. Yet he had a family, he did achieve great things. There are plenty of famous people out there who also have it but you never notice or care about it since they still do extraordinary things...

Here are some more... Bill Gates, Mark Twain, Emily Dickinson, Beethoven, Van Gogh, Mozart, Thomas Jefferson, and Thomas Edison

You live in the US right? Now I see where the problem is. Wait until you're 21 and alcohol will become your friend in social events.

Lol Assyrian man amen to that!
Mr.why you have a psychiatrist to begin with is beyond me your teachers are from Amundsen no offense but cps schools don't really care about their students let alone your school.I dunno how they came to that conclusion.you've made it clear on here before you are anti social by your own free will. Go to parties, go to youth every Friday (I can have you meet my brother If you don't known people)just go out and socialize.then after a year go visit those doctors and teachers.

There is nothing wrong with you.

It's the way you are....

there is no "way you are"
humans are kinda like computers, they have to be programmed. The way I am is because of how I was raised and the events in my life. If I was raised different or the events were different, I wouldn't be like this.....

Or it's how you are born. If it's "events in your life" like we all said it was change those events.own your own life and make a difference

Actually the reason why I said that because I am sorta similiar to yours, but I am normal, but unique. I dont always act like 21 more of a teenager as of a mind of a 16 year old, though I still look like one. LOL And pretty much am gay and get social anxiety sometime not all the time.... yet whatever we gone through with our lives is how it shaped us up. It's all met to be, all fate.

Dont be programmed to think there something wrong about your self.

bookta, i've always wanted to ask you this.....

what the phuck does "boyfriend material" mean? It's getting in my way to romance. Apparently I don't meet the requirements for it.
