Australians VS Americans

Ok Guys Today is my 7th Day in Michigan.

Climate

Very warm, rapid changing from semi-sunny to heavy rain (Happened once only). Not as our summer though.

Vegetation

Very green-ish trees and GARDENS (Their gardens are tremendeously manifested by their greeny grass at one ground level across the whole neighbourhood). Trees are similar looking to "Christmas trees" with a nice Grey-ish touch on the leafs and branches.

People

Their people are mixed. Just like in Australia. They have many Black people like you haven't seen before "maybe that's the only case you feel you're in America) >>>> "Wharra up Dough" That's exactly how it is pronounced. Nice people so Far, friendly and crazy simultaneously.

Places

So far i have been to "Oakland Mall" "wave pool" "Dealer shops" "Few Restaurants". Soon going to Summer-Set shopping and some other places i forgot their names. American shopping prices are cheap as hell comparing them to our prices. Literally double maybe more than ours.

If you walk around their parks and plazes watching the cars moving/driving in different directions, reveals the impression of not being in Australia. You can spot the differences and feel you're in another country. Despite their steering wheels, looks funny when they drive, as you can notice the right front seat empty with a moving vehicle.

Language

Their lanugage is CUTE, deep and endurable. Australian will have NO obsticals understanding their accent. They definitely think we have an accent too, therefore i get asked to keep on talking for they adore our accent. For example, when i talk, Australians mianly will maintain their silent "R" at the end of each work that ends with "R" (Sista, Brotha, Neighba = Neighbour, Worra = Water and so on) Unfortunately they find that amusing. Their pronounciation will be as follows ( WarreR, NeighbouR, SisteR, BrotheR, CaRe etc...) i think it is very cute "personally".

Manners wise. When saying "Thank you" Their reply would be "AHA", at once i said you mean You Welcome. Then again she said "aha". Australians will think that's RUDE, right of the top of their heads.

Cars

Oh My God. I haven't seen so many types/models/shapes of cars in my life. Flaming devastating feelings as their car prices are "Nothing" comparing to us. So many Chryslers, Hummers, Mustanges etc... for the price of one car in Australia. Each female would be driving  most decent car and i'll be like "look at that khmarta and her car" hahaha jokes. :blush2:.

Over all

I am very much liking it. Evolving with their life style and food. Happy to stay longer.Went to two parties already and thei weddings and christenings are very much of a fun style. Like their set of tables and how they grab something "objec" after the party finishes (as a souvenir, funny as). Lookign forward to meet Sweets and some other friends if i can.

Glad you are enjoying your time there love. I'm also glad that they are actually understanding you.

:) Peaches ... They might say "what" when not understanding something. Again no manner (LOL). For instance i got asked WHY do you say Excuse me when you don't understand something? my reply was because that's how we deal with stuff like that in Australia. They find it (WOW ok).

Any moron that responds with aha instead of you're welcome is one rude fk with no manners.you should really try to come to Chicago hitch a ride with Jon he needs to visit soon.

Beautiful display pic!

I really like the North American vegitation. The pine tree's are so different to our natives, it really does make you feel like you're in another land.

Glad you're liking it...keep having fun  :bigarmhug:

Do you like the food? I didnt like the food there ( no offence you americans )- the food here is so much better.

Yeah sorry I'd have to agree with Peachy...It all had the fast food feel to it. I think the only way you'd understand is if you come to Oz. We'll take you out and then you can judge for yourself.

American food is great.  They just feed you way too much.

Treasure Gurl, ask an American, "Can I have a hamburger".  They will answer, "we can help you with hamburgers but we don't have any Cnivers".  It happened to my friend.

Great review, and wouldn't expect anything less from the United States of America.

But if you were able to give it such good marks based on 7 days in Michigan only, God knows how better your review will be when you go to other places like the West Coast.

I have been to the USA 3 times and Michigan was my least favourite place.  Just seemed miserable, but the weather while I was there was gloomy and that may have added to the miserable atmosphere.

How about the price difference in everything?    :ban:  We don't live THAT far from the rest of the world...

Yes so many different cars and they are so much bigger! 1 car is the size of 2 cars here.. :giggle:

JACK IN THE BOX! I miss it...

you should have crashed tutu's wedding :giggle:

oakland mall is awesome... cuz it has steve and barry.. i love that place :blush2:

I have visited the USA 3 times and I have yet to eat a kebab that is remotely as good as the worst kebab I have ever eaten in Australia, therefore I have to say Australia wins.  Michigan has the best kebabs in the USA though.

You are kidding bro? have you visited Detroit? Try Kebab Bahi, and you will be amazed! I have a watery mouth just remembering it. Arguably the best city outside of the Middle East for great Kebobs.

Come here, my dad makes the BEST kabobs ever..

Ashoor, I ate nothing but kebabs in Detroit when I was there (to watch Brazil v Sweden at USA94) and I stayed there for 6 days with my relatives taking me to every kebab shop there was.  They were ok, but do not compare to the ones in Australia, especially Sydney kebabs (the only thing I rate Sydney in  )

Atourina, if I make it to Canada, I want to try it.  If I carry out my "threat" to visit Canada, you will be the first to know  ;)

Bani, that was 1994, this is 2008. Since then, so many new store have opened, with all the new Iraqis that have arrived there after the war. Believe me, you will be amazed.

As for Toronto, it is the Iranians who make some great kebobs (if you don't mind the worst service in the world)
