Keep on watching your own people becoming extinct then.

our people have faced this for thousands of years.  it hurts me and depresses me to see such a large diaspora of my people.  i can do as much as i can with the resources i have, but sometimes destiny has its own plan for us.

lets both wish the best for our beloved people.

Still waiting for the 10,000 person  "christian militia", Yonadam.... ?  Not time?...

Oh yes, because all of iraq, not just the Assyrians are being killed....

For arguments sake, who put you in the parliament...?

The iraqis?

or the Assyrians?

hmmmmm, i dont know...  But in the words of not so great men, "you are king and you are god"... ! ';)

Yes, Yonadam is in a terrible situation right now, I wouldn't ridicule him because he's having enough pressure as it is. He really can't do much because we Assyrians don't have much muscles in Iraq (read money, resources and weapons).

I understand what you're saying. But you also have to understand, that we are in this situation, because for too long we've just accepted persecution. We simply just cannot afford playing it nice any longer, because soon, we'll be gone if we keep it up like we have in the past.

Yes, I wish the best for the Assyrian nation, but something tells me that's not going to happen unless we try to do something about it, and advocating the right political ideologies, is something we must do.

Increased security measures in the Nineveh Plains have been employed, where all roads leading to the villages are blocked (no cars can apparently enter), and streets leading to churches are secured.

Remove the redundant ism and you're right on the spot.

Islamism is the application of Islam.  Although I personally believe Islam to be an intolerant totalitarian system, I do not impose my view on others and thus afford people to hold their own view.  If they want to call their non-theological views 'Islam' then I am not one militant enough to suppress their conviction.  Afterall, it is not semantics that matters, but the values and beliefs people hold.  As long as they are not calling for my death and destruction, why do I give a damn whether they call it 'Islam' or 'X'..?
