I was going to write more but I was at work and cut it short.
for those of you still questioning the 'habits' of our parents and what-not, all I can say is 'get over it'. All we have to do is ride this generation out until its our turn.
yes, it does suck to have to go 'undercover' when you really like/love someone. but, you also have to remember that the underlying factor of WHY they act this way is b/c of the marriage factor.
for some odd reason, the main goal/cycle for our parents generation and everyone before them, was to have kids and then marry them off and THEN live your life. total a$$-backwards. well, I guess back then there really wasnt much to do, thats why they had 10.5 kids/family on average hahaha
anyway, point is that the 'western' societies brought new thought into our heads. yes, i did grow up with the 'puritan' notion that I will not have sex until marriage and that dating is bad....did I follow? I'll let you figure that one out hahahaha I pretty much assimilated to the society in which I lived, I mean, it makes sense, its normal. I didn't want to be a social outcast.
someone mentioned that its easier to date a nakhraya, TOTALLY true! omg, going out with non-Assyrians is great.... no family drama, no paranoidism, none of that. heck, meet her parents first day! why not! hahaha to me that makes more sense b/c if the guy meets her parents first, its a total shock and maybe they can get the picture of why she likes dude. [the guy can also be threatened at this point hahaha]
so, lets face it, we aren't 'innocent' anymore. kids are growing up fast and sooner or later no one will care to do the 'undercover' dating. you already see little girls at parties dressing up all skanky and carrying drinks in their hand. this was NOT the case when I was growing up...heck, girls at parties wore NORMAL clothes and the only thing they looked forward too was if the guy they liked was looking at them and had the guts to go up to them and chat or give them their number or pager number hahahaa
oh and T.O. a good way for a guy to try to talk to 'his girl' at a wedding/party is to pull the 'dance next to her in khigga' bit... ive been guilty and so has someone else i know hahaha
rum?
