Assyrians - Under Cover Dating

Why is it when two assyrians start dating everything is done on the down low. Why do they have the need to hide their relationship from other assyrians.

My parents personlly dont really care... I have cuzins that have problems tho... :sleep:
 
I took my ex (that bastard) to an assyrian party just for him to see what my culture is like.................. everyone that my parents knew came up to us and said congratulations on your engagement(only dating for a month) he freaked out, my mom had to explain to him that this is normal.

Most people just dont wanna deal with the gossip, worst is when you break up everyone will be in your business and it makes it harder to date another assyrian.
 
I dont know why we cant be like canadians or americans and not care about what people say.

I rather to everything infront of people then behind them. Let them talk. I just feel sorry for the people to have to find places to go so they dont run into assyrians.

yea i know...thats what i dislike from our assyrian/chaldean people in this country and any countries...

mine dont care only if your not lying to them about g/fs...then its all good with urself...oh thats pretty sucks :biggrin:
 
i've never dated an assyrian.. I WANNA DATE A FRICKEN ASSYRIAN!!

however.. i dont care if im seen with anyone.. my parents dont care either.. they're all about me and my sisters dating... unlike other assyrian parents.. i think they want their daughters to be lesbians or something :bangin:

lmaoo....assyrian parents are the worst when it comes to letting their kids date...well in most cases..lmao...everytime u go out...they make sure they know who ur going out w/....cuz it could be a member of the opposite sex...lmao....and when they see pictures of u and a girl...or their daughter w/ a guy...they question u for hours...lmao...ahahhaa...but the girls get it the worst.... :mrgreen:
 
This topic is VERY true and bothers the living daylight out of me. FOR EXAMPLE:

My cousin was seeing this girl that NOBODY had seen. He said her name was Maggie, and gave out very little info. Then suddenly theyre getting engaged... When her family goes over to my aunts place NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT... no one hears anything till like 2 weeks later...

So me being the liberal open minded canadian.. lol ask if he has a picture of her.. he almost goes cross eyed thinking of an answer and says theyre in the car, he'll get them later... HE AVOIDS ME....

Then i come over one day before theyre formal engagement (unexpected) AND BAM.... there she is with her whole family... TOO BAD she was one of my brothers best friends and not even HE knew! Her name wasnt MAGGIE... IT WAS MARY!!!!!!!! and i fully knew her!!

SO why is it that us assyrians do everything in our power to mislead each other and join the witness protection program??

STUPIDITY! we are not in the villages of old iraq or iran or syria or india for that matter... welcome to western civilization... where its normal to be human and date others!
 
Because some people are SNAKES, talk garbage and ruin relationships or atleast stress the living shit out of the couple.

The best is when your at a party and both the people are dating eachother are there. The girl sits with her parents all night and poor thing cant even go talk to her own boyfriend. While her boyfriend is trying to find ways to talk to her without making it obvious.

I think every girl should know her futute to be husband, i honeslty hate and i mean HATE the way some of us iraqies get married, without knowing who she or he is and the next day there getting married?? WHATT?? its relaly pathetic and lame.

Assyrians are comedic....its so very sad...this is the mentality of the people, and ppl talk. Could you imagine yourself dating an assyrian guy (or girl) going to their house to watch a movie, while his family is there, and everything being perfectly normal. NO!...because normality doesn't exist in an Assyrian household (most of them anyways) AND the guys aunt or grandma will spread the word that your his fiance next Sun. at church.

Also, imagine dating an assyrian, and the relationship going horribly wrong. One of the families is bound to talk shit, and ruin the other persons reputation--as a result, no one's gonna want to date that guy or girl, because of their past experiences.

Now imagine if you were dating someone who wasnt Assyrian, it would be SO MUCH EASIER!!!...Which is why most assyrians don't date assyrians. My brothers dont have anything against assyrians, but they believe it is absolutely impossible for them to date an assyrian girl-at the same time, Why don't you look for an assyrian girl? Well, maybe if Assyrian girls didnt have a freaking wall of fathers, uncles, brothers and cousins, a guy could actually approach her.

Its funny how most of us want Assyrians to mix and marry fellow assyrians, and have babies with fellow assyrians, in order to populate the earth with more assyrians, but the simple act of dating, and dating assyrians more specifically, is damn near impossible.

well u guys pretty much covered it...i mean i think all of us know why considering either u have done it or know someone who has. They think it's wrong to date when ur young and if they think ur doing something wrong...kheena you won't hear the end of it. ppl just talk smack without even knowing anything, but honestly....ppl need to experience before marriage. now i don't mean experience as in sexual experiences...i mean as in relationships--> learning how to handle certain things and maybe even realizing what u want in a spouse.
