Have you guys watched Assyrian Super Star 2013?

Assyrian superstar show1 PART 2

I watched the whole clip and I must say, it is professionally done and most of the singers did well.

we are already looking for singers to replace our old generation? (janan sawa, sargon gabriel, etc.)

Absolutely. You can see from this very show, how the great Sargon Gabriel, in terms of his voice, doesn't have it anymore. While the old generation can still perform, they are long overdue for a replacement. It is not about finding the next Sargon, Janan etc. Let us just find new good singers and they will be their own.

To those who watched, who was your favorite? Mine has to be Wisam (forgot his number) who sang Albert Rowel's song. Most of the other ones were excellent for the most part. I also like the judges and how the two females go at each other (probably a setup like American Idol)

And I like the host a lot, he is eloquent and funny.

but we are just replacing the Generation that were influenced by Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish and Persian music with a generation that is influenced by Western style Music.

both forms are nice, but we have our own music that hasn't been tended to for 1,000+ years
 
I have so many complaints about this stupid show (I've seen 2013 and 2014 seasons)...

*Most of the contestants are HORRIBLE singers! How did they even get past the first round? They cannot sing at all!

*And how these so-called "gifted" and "talented" judges have the audacity to compliment these contestants' awful voices...pfft

*The host is condescending. He humiliates the contestants with his wisecracks. And he is just tedious with his jokes (*cringe*). On top of that, his Assyrian is a bit "broken" - It's like as if he forgot Assyrian in his childhood and is now trying hard to speak it again as an adult - He just doesn't sound natural (*more cringing*)...

*The contestants aren't given the time and opportunity to answer back the judges' critiques. They make them stand there and all they do is shake their head or nod. You always have to ask your mentor a question. Give me that friggin' chance already!

*Make that annoying host sit down whilst the judges are critiquing the contestants. It's between the contestant and the judge. Not the host. The judges can make the decision on which of them can critique next anyway.

*Too many judges! 3 or 4 is enough. 5+ is an overkill...

*Are Assyrians that shy? We're a loud bunch I thought. I mean, these contestants are awfully quiet and shy. They're akin to prepubescent children, meekly smiling and turning red. I don't get it?
