"Dear Assyrians!
Last week 21 Assyrian organisations met in Sydney Australia and agreed that it is completely necessary that we hold a protest against the recent aggression shown by the KRG against the Assyrian People of Nalah.
The KRG have begun building illegally on our ancestral lands without the approval of its inhabitants. Our people in the homeland have pleaded with us to protest in the diaspora and show our anger towards the actions of the KRG.
The KRG had recently blocked all the residents of Nalah from leaving their homes and protesting in Erbil. Their identification cards, which had them labeled as Christians, was used to distinguish them from the Arabs and Kurds.
At this very moment most of our lands are in the hands of ISIS, while the KRG are now beginning to take and build on the remaining villages/land we have.
Therefore we will be protesting on 11am Saturday, 7th of May at Martin Place and will be marching down the streets of Sydney to Belmore Park. Our people in the homeland are depending on us.
Bring your flags, banners and voices!"
