These Figures are far from Accurate. There is a lot more Assyrians than stated here.

Reason, is because at the Census, Chaldeans always identify themselves as Chaldeans and Syriacs as Syriacs, plus many Assyrians simply put down either Iraqi, Syrian or Arab. Hence the real number of Assyrians overall is probably double that number if not more.

I know in Melbourne alone, there is no less than 40,000 Assyrians if not more, due to the recent migration of Assyrians from Syria & Iraq after the Isis Drama.

I am amazed there are 100 in NT. Back in 2008, I met a Canadian Chaldean on a bus who was in CDU. I can't forget what he was studying but it was just before he got off the bus that I realised he was Chaldean. This is the nearest I have come to meeting Assyrians in NT.

In the 2021 census, 40,218 persons were Assyrian and 21,166 identified themselves as having Chaldean ancestry. This gives a total of 61,000 or so Assyrian people (including Chaldeans), as that total counts both groups - So it's fairly accurate (at that time). Yes, by now in 2024, I think we may have reached 70,000. You gotta wait until the 2026 census to know.

A caveat; I doubt that "many" Assyrians put Iraqi and especially Arab. Assyrians here are very nationalistic and would feel angst to label themselves Arab. Sure, a few do, like the odd Chaldean (and the Maslawi folks who have some Assyrian in them), but they're a huge minority. Heck, even Arabic speaking Chaldeans here (who know a few Assyrian words) say that they're Assyrian/Suraye, to my pleasant surprise!
