Daniella Chamoun to the Swedish national team

Assyriska's former player Daniella Chamoun has made the national team. Daniella moved from Assyriska to Hammarby and now has succeeded to reach the national team.

Congratulations to you! How does it feel?
Thanks a lot, it feels really good!

Was it something you expected or did it come as a surprise?
I have been their twice before but when it become clear nevertheless I was very happy when I received the news.

The national team camp begins January 29, how will you prepare for it?
It is important to get accustomed so that one knows how to prepare. One will of course get in a good mould when it comes to it.

You went from Assyriska to Hammarby, can you to tell us a little about your career.
When I was 6-7 years old I first began to play football with friends and cousins. I always checked on my brother when he played football. After a while, I contacted Assyriska and they were starting a girls team and it was evident that they were very interested.
When I was 15 years old become I went up to S?rmlandsl?ger and Elitl?ger.  Their, I got the opportunity to show case my talent and then the people noticed my play.

Describe yourself as a player!
I am very technical and I have a strong will. It is something that I pride myself on.

What has Assyriska meant in your development?
Assyriska has greatly been a part of my football development. I got accustomed with girls in my age. I got good training there. My football skills developed a lot during my time in Assyriska.

Oh congrats to her! that?s great news!!

haha I got to show this article to my little sister, she?s going to be soooo jealous

Great stuff.  I hope she gets more replies than the article about Nashat Akram.

JooJee, was there 2 Assyrian girls playing for the Australian Youth women's team a few years ago.  I was overseas when I heard the rumour but I am not sure if it is true.

Looks like our brothers and sisters in Sweden are making the headlines on the football field.  I want to see an Assyrian Socceroo or Matilda one of these days.

Great for her, I will start covering her on our home page and hopefully get more of her news.

ASHOOR

It is really nice to hear an Assyrian is doing so well and her being a girl is even more amazing.
Good for her and i wish her all the best in her career..it is nice to see your own do so well.

awesome i hope she makes a postive and lasting career out of football. I guess if your a female soccer player Sweden would be one of the countries you'd want to be playing at.

lool i could have been a socceroo if it wasnt for the horrible and pathetic Treatment i got at youth Levels when i came here in 91.

back in those days, if u were not Greek nor Croatian, u did not belong to the game. I played Soccer for iraqi Club " al Rasheed " all my Junior years and it was always my dream to play in the top level, but i was shocked to see the Careless attitude people had in the old days in Australia.

Cant wait for the Aussie/Qatar Game, bastards they gave me tickets behind the goals which is not a bad spot, except its with the Qatari supporters lol.. i hope they wont be too many of them.

You are not the first person I have heard complain about racism.  My friend, named Shane Williams who was "only" half Croatian was a magician with the ball and actually made the squad of the young socceroos for some of the qualifiers for 1991.  He ended up missing out on the squad when they qualified.  He said it was racism, but that youth team of Australia was the best we ever had.  But he always insisted that if his father was Croatian and he had a Croatian surname, he would have been in.  Several years later, he was playing for the Penrith Panthers reserve team in Rugby league.  A natural sportsman.

I will have a seat on the sideline for the Qatar game.  I bought my ticket just last week.  How did you end up in the Qatari section?
