The 2014 Assyria Day Conference is guaranteed to be the quintessential event for Assyrian nationalists.
The conference will include a high caliber of international speakers comprising of Australian Federal and State MP?s as well as local council members. Our keynote speakers include a lawyer and writer with degrees in Politics and International Relations; an Assyrian journalist who has spent years living and advocating in Assyria; a teacher and educator of the Assyrian language and a Federal Member of the Australian Parliament.
With the current madness that is unfolding in Iraq and the middle east will we sit idly by and have our future dictated by chaos or will we come together to shape our own destiny?
The Young Assyrians would like to invite you to share your vision of the future and examine what needs to be done now to create a tangible Assyria.
Our generation is recognised not only as future leaders, but representatives of Assyrian society today, with a direct stake as both creators and beneficiaries of the future Assyrian Nation.
With major developments made in the Australian political sphere including the unanimous endorsement of the upper house of NSW State Parliament for the establishment of an autonomous Assyrian Province in the Nineveh Plains this year?s conference is a not-to-be-missed event.
This event aims to highlight the rights of the Assyrian people to safely return to their homeland, to affirm their rights to exist in harmony, peace & security with their neighbours. It also supports the demands of the Assyrians in their pursuit of an autonomous federal province or state.
Spaces are limited, register today at: www.assyriaday14.eventbrite.com.au/
