Hey guys,

A great read. It was writting in the NYTimes in 1913. At least read the first 3 paragraphs for those too lazy to read the whole thing!

That was great.  I love how the article is making fun of him the whole time.  It took a nice turn when it writes,

"Asked to explain the significance of the name of the new religion, Prophet Kamis explained that the Pures had no reference to purity in mind, soul, or body, but referred to racial purity, and, specifically, to the pure white race, and the maintenance of the purity of the white race is its central doctrine."

Then is goes on to call him swarthy throughout the story.  Hahahaha!  What an idiot.  I wonder if his 500 page Bible ever got published.

All by punching in "Assyrian" in the NYTimes archives. A lot of interesting reads. Some brought smiles, many bringing frowns. Just looking through these articles it just amazes me how influential we were and how talked about we were and just like that...it has turned into civil unrest amongst our community.

Sad...

We should all be pures again!
 
God, how embarrassing. And I think "mqalsa" is some sort of title in Assyrian.


Some creepy Jehovah's Witnesses just came into where I work. I should have told them I follow this dude. They would have ran in the opposite direction.
 
He killed the religion before it started with comments like "We shall not smoke, chew nor snuff tobacco..." and "We shall not drink any liquor but the quantity prescribed by our laws", the nation at that time smoke and drank like there is no tomorrow, to preach such messages was never going to impress many people. Furthermore, he's linking a religion to a state law? Whatever the government says is OK we'll drink? Bad move.
