When my parents were alive, My mom used to tell our fortune mostly through coffee. When I had chat the leafs used to float almost frequently. If my mom's predictions were right, then I would be a Billionaire by now lol.  :ROFLMAO:

we went through 2 genocides, and we were good christians for centuries. Now our youth are turning into sinful, s3xual psychos killing each other over drugs, I say we finally deserve a country.

I agree 100%, we do deserve a province, but we are not ready for it.
Imagine whats gonna happen if we get our province.
Assyrians will be arguing or fighting with Chaldeans and Syriacs and vise versa. We will probably have some sort of "civil war" between us.
Besides, what are they going to name our new province?
The name cannot be exclusive to Assyrians, Chaldeans and Syriacs.
Chaldeans and Syriacs will not change their *national* name to the Assyrian name. Neither the Assyrians will change their name as mentioned above.
The only solution would be to have a name that would please everyone (such as: Beth Nahranaye, Suraye or Aramaye).
This also applies to our flag.
We should all have one goal in mind in order to be able to accomplish what we have in mind. We should all unite because "If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand."
Once all these things are accomplished, we will be ready to get our own province. Personally, I think we are trying to run instead of walk in small steps if you know what I mean. At the same time we have to work very hard and we have to compromise in order to survive and get our new province.
Our youth are not the only ones turning to drugs and all that junk, but its from every other culture. The world is changing and people are weak. They want to belong to something or someone, so they simply join gangs and act foolishly. Their parents are not raising them properly. Some parents over-trust their children and some are control-freaks. The divorce rate is rapidly increasing (this also applies to our people) and children often miss their other parent. This creates a gap into the child's mind, so they want to fill that gap by joining gangs and all that junk. For a moment I thought I was a psychologist lol :) :giggle:.  Back to the topic, Did the jews get their land as it was predicted in the Old Testament?
Did Jesus Christ really exist?
Has the Bible (especially the New Testament) been corrupted?
BTW, I enjoyed the conversation.  :)

my grandma use to say: "never wear socks while u are sleeping!,,,, always take them off b4 u sleep!"
:blush2:

My mom used to say that we should not take a bath or a shower on Friday night (lele et rootah) and Sunday night ( lele et khosheeba) because the above days were "cursed?"

I heard the thing with the socks too but slightly different. My mom used to say that if you go to bed with your socks on, your face would turn yellow after couple of hours lol.

These traditions are quite funny and foolish at the same time, dont you think? I mean there is no way to prove these things using science, history or other methods.

Did the Jews get their land back or not?
They worked very hard, they got their state and they deserve it.
I think if all Assyrians, Chaldeans and Syriacs were united we would have had our land back just like the Jews. But our situation is very unique and foolish.
Assyrians discriminate against Chaldeans, Syriacs and vice versa.
We even discriminate against our own people from different tribes, villages and denominations. This is foolish, dont you agree?
We need to work hard more than the Jews for sure.
Back to the topic, Did the Old Testament predict that the Jews would scatter around the world for many years and get their land back? Did it happen? We may be next if we all work together.

Yes that's true, we've been waiting for 2500 years. That is the problem, we were waiting instead of acting. Do you understand what I mean?
Look at my previous post for more details.
BTW I like your signature, may I use it as my new signature?

You're right bro but we unfortunately can't compare our situation with the jews, ours is totaly different, for example they lived in diaspora for 2000 years, we live in diaspora for 100 years and the majority of our people in diaspora don't even care about our rights or they fight for stupid things like you told us => our stupid names, everyone want to have the last words, no communication between this different parts and for some, they hate each other...

I totaly agree with you bro, this names will be our loss, we need unity, we need a compomise, we need one people and not three, to conclude we need BETH NAHRAIN

ps: feel free to use my signature, we should be more with this kind of signature ;)

To Athiest Assyrian. As an athiest you would claim that there is NO God. How can that be so. Order and design of the universe demands a creator. Everything desinged on earth demands a designer. The argument of NO God doesnt sit well with me. If we loose our church and religious view we will be loosing alot of our identity. If it wasnt for the faith in Jesus our people through the wars and Genocides would of all converted to islam and we would of lost ALL IDENTITY.

Our situation is more complicated than the Jews for sure. But we should never stop working hard to get a province.
As I said above We all need to have a common goal and a common mindset to get our beloved province.
Sometimes, I feel like I want to give up the hard work. But our history motivates me to work harder and encourage our people to unify.

Thanks for allowing me to use your signature.  :)

All the best:

Thanks for the resources bro.
Atheists claim there is no God,  because they have never seen Him, nor touched, smelled and felt Him. This theory is flawed! I could say that human beings have no brain, because I have never seen it, smelled it, touched it and tasted it. According to that theory I am 100% right. But, do people have a brain inside their head? Yes absolutely we all do, but we sometimes misuse it.  Atheists believe in the Big Bang Theory. They have never witnessed the Big Bang Theory as well as evolution, but they have faith.
They also claim that the creation and Noah's ark is a Mesopotamian myth because of similarities to the Epic of Gilgamesh and other Mesopotamian myths.
We ( the Mesopotamians)  were witness to these events that are recorded in the Old Testament of the Bible. We wrote them down first, because we invented writing. This also applies to other cultures and ancient civilizations.

Agreed.

I attended a lecture by a Coptic priest at my university and he brought up an interesting idea. He stated that throughout history, people have always believed in something. Whether they worshiped fire, the sun, moon, or idols, people have always known there was something greater than themselves. He said that the concept of Atheism is a newfound idea [100 years in existence?] that some individuals believe to be true. How can something so relatively new be correct? Were humans that stupid 10,000 years ago to worship fire or to believe in something other than themselves? I don't believe so, look at the monuments and structures ancient peoples built! The idea of believing that no God exists is simply one of convenience, in my opinion.

I Totally agree with you in these things. But whos to say the Big Bang wasnt a way that God Began the world. Im not using the God of the Gaps Argument just stating that all these things that Scientists keep discovering in my thought are just unravelling the Mysteries of GOD

I'm one of those non-religious Assyrians who can care less about religion, I'm more of an evidence science kind of guy when it comes to universal matters that religion likes to tackle, so my opinion of God comes from a personal scientific opinion, not a religious one.

With that said, as an Assyrian I have respect for Christianity because it has been part of our ancestors' heritage which kept our name alive, without Christianity we would be Arab Muslims today and our identity and language would be completely lost, but thanks to this faith and our churches for keeping us alive, we have divisions yes, but always keep it in your mind that without our own churches in our history, we are NOTHING, this is why I hold Christianity dear to my heart just as I hold the old faith of Ashurism dear to my heart as well.

I also agree that an Assyrian does not have to be Christian to be Assyrian, I suppose you can choose to believe in whatever you like as long as this faith does not cause problems to your people (Like Islam for example).

Then who created God? Hmm...You see I'd rather believe in NATURAL causes. That's the easier first step. If someone just fall and died, you'd say he died of a heart attack - not a an evil spirit came in him and killed him. This world is just too real for the supernatural. We should use natural stuff, not supernatural.

I agree with the Islam thing. I'd hated myself if we became one. But we are still Assyrian after all. We died for our culture mostly rather than Christianity. Remember, Christianity has killed people in the name of God in the Middle Ages and a bit afterwards. Even ancient Assyrians were violent. So hey, we're not that innocent.

Now that doesn't matter much, what matters is that we should rely on science, evidence and all for our Earth's history, not a 2000 year old JEWISH book.

Sense, this doesn't make.

Christianity is a religion. How can you not be religious? If you are saying you don't practice it, then you are not a christian. You can't just turn it on and off every sunday or holiday, you're cheating.

It is a different thing between being religious or a believer. I am a believer but not religious as in a practicing Christian, albeit a Christian.
