From the Isin-Larsa period (which was the ending of the Sumerian period and beginning of Assyria/Amorite Babylon) we have a clay, animal headed, spinning toy that resembles the modern fidget spinner! Here's a top down comparison.

Interesting, but....

What's with the fascination of the fidget spinner and why is it a fad now? It's 20 years too late. Seems like a very 90s toy. I don't get it. Is it the nostalgia?

likely because they're cheap to make and licensing on them is probably finished. Idk why.

To my surprise, I just found out that came out in 1993, but only got popular now. Lol.
