the pandemic forced us to stay home in 2020 and 2021 but I could only stay away from Vegas for too long
So this month, we made it back to Vegas for a lovely 6-day vacation, where we had a great time. This is my 5th trip to Vegas, having previously travelled there in 2011,2014,2018,2019.
This time, just like last two times, we booked at the amazing Venetian, but got upgraded to its sister and more luxurious Palazzo, with an amazing 37th floor view of not just the Vegas strip, but literally the entire city and the Vegas valley.
While the weather was hot as usual, for the first time we had to put up with cloudy and rainy weather in Vegas. In fact, not just any rain, but torrential type of rain. They have gotten it several times this month and it is not a bad thing since the city and lake Mead faces drought and need as much rain as possible.
Another thing about Vegas is that it has gotten extremely expensive, even for a city like Vegas which is traditionally cheap.
In terms of shows, finally got to see ‘Tournament of Kings’ which is a medieval times type of show, where knights battle it out on horses, while you watch and literally eat a whole hen chicken with your hands. The idea is to mimic how they lived 500 years ago.
In terms of gambling and while I am not a big gambler, I had some decent wine on slot machines. In other words, I won more than I lost.
Of course, can’t be Vegas without something new: this time it was an amazing new resort that opened last here, Resort World Las Vegas, an absolutely amazing and out of this world resort (see picture below, it is the red hotel)
Last, can’t help but talk about the coolest thing coming to Las Vegas, the MSG Sphere, which will be a concert theatre venue while the outside will be the biggest LED screen in the world, able to project things that can be seen miles away. See video below :
