When I read this news this morning, I literally had to rub my eyes, thinking I wasn't reading it properly.

Christina Khader Ebada, who was abducted by ISIS as her family were leaving the Nineveh plain back in summer of 2014, has now been freed and returned to her family! She was 3 years old back then, and is now 6 and in good health. But the psychological side is a bit more complicated, as she barely speaks any Assyrian now and is only communicating with her family through signs :/

This is the girl that the whole world heard about and literally millions prayed for and here it is, a miracle has happened. Not sure how she was freed exactly but from the few sources I read so far, it seems as though a family in Mosul found her and helped free her through the Iraqi army.

Can't imagine how thrilled her mom and whole family is. It is like returning from dead....

That is heart warming, very happy for the family. A lot of questions spring to mind though.

?She looks OK, quite healthy. I believe she must have been in the house of a family who took good care of her. She was even wearing gold earrings, so it must have been a wealthy family,? she added.

I'm wondering what happened to this little girl, I pray that she hasn't been through traumatic events as I've seen rumors about what's been done to abducted christians. She was taken by isis scum but where was she located and why. What wealthy family? For what purposes. If anybody knows more on this please provide info in this thread.

Indeed, I too was thinking the same thing: so many questions one needs to ask. Problem is: 1)she is young and dones't understand much still , 2)her family will probably not be able to reveal much out of fear and 3)She seems to be shaken from the whole experience and can hardly communicate verbally anymore. It will take months for her to adjust to normal life again and by that time, she will probably have forgotten everything that happened to her.

Well, the age she was captured are also crucial years for brain development, so if she was in an environment where she wasn't hearing people speak or nobody was teaching her how to, it would have irreversible damage on her development and her brain would never "catch up" if she starts learning too late. This happened in the USA a long time ago where a psycho dad didn't let people near his infant daughter and made her stay alone in her room untill she was rescued in her early teens.

Hopefully that is not the reason why she isn't able to communicate at the moment, and good thing she's still young. I just hope they are able to get her top notch psychological treatment.

She was located somewhere in wetern mosul probably near the old city.

Please send her and her family to a safer country. What if this happens again?

Amazing how the western media didn't bat an eye to this.
