I got this question from someone and I decided to post it to see different perspectives.


If you do not kill/murder because God forbids this, and then discover that God, by fact, does not exist, then what is there to stop you from killing?

Alright Uneek,

Picture someone whom you do not like and you have this desire to kill him/her but because you believe in God you are forbidden since it goes against the commandment 'thou shall not kill'. You heard on the news that there is hardcore evidence that God no longer exists, then what will stop you from killing this person?

If you decide to kill this person, you will not be punished; infact you will have the pleasure of getting rid of this person from your sight and your life.

What is there to stop you from exercising this instinctual wish?
 
well that's why there's serial killers people who don't belive in God or the commandments and kill nothing to stop them

Thats absurd! If I you knew I would truly cease to exist after I died then why have morals and respect? It will be survival of the fittest! Only laws can prevent you from doing whatever you want and if you can get away with it, then go for it!
 
I agree with Ultoma.

God is not the primary reason why I do not kill. There is such thing as compassion for human life without the influence of divine reward and doctrine.

When you discover it, it'll be to late to kill coz you'd be dead :giggle: rendering it null and void

well it depends on the person...i don't think everybody could bring themselves to take someone's life away even if they hated them...i know i couldn't so i just assume some ppl can't either.
 
well killing someone is too harsh for me.. i cant do it.. i have trouble killing spiders.. what makes u think i can kill a person? idk its just too much for me i wouldnt be able to handle it


plus even if there is no God and after life.. its still not my place to take a life... and if we were all to just go around killing ppl we dont like for w/e reason there would be no living humans by now.. cuz there is always someone out there who hates u and wants to see u dead
