I have a serious proposition to make to everyone on this site who post as member and those who just sit and read. My proposition is very simple and attainable.
We are clear on the fact we have 2 (maybe 4) sides.
We'll catogorize them for conveniance sake, into 4 categories. Mar Bawi supporters, Zowaa supporters, Mar Dinkha supporters, and the ANC/Dadisho supporters.
Us as humans, but above all Assyrian, have the tendancy to look at our differences in our community while ignoring or shunning our similiarities. My proposal is simple as stated. Lets not look at what makes us differet, but rather, what makes us similar.
Mar Bawi supporters seek the Lord and seek peace amongst the church with a united Assyrian front.
Mar Dinkha supporters also seek the Lord and seek peace amongst the church with a united Assyrian front.
Zowaa supporters look for the betterment of the Assyrians in Iraq and around the world.
ANC/Dadisho supporters hope to establish an Assyrian state in Iraq, in doing so, also seek the betterment of the Assyrians in that region.
These are two very general similarities. I'm sure I can make a huge list of similarities. But yet we still choose to look at the negatives. This is the cancer that will devour our nation if we dont wake up and come to grips with this harsh reality.
It is perfectly natural that we do this. Its in our human nature to be this way. Its always great to be critical, but obviously to a certain degree. Pointing out the wrongs is the only way to make it right. But, to be productive as a nation and as a group, we need to find those that link us together first, then we'll work on bridging the gap and mending the fences.
I'll leave you with this one last little bit to think about and dwell on.
What is our BIGGEST link?
Our love for our nation, our culture (which includes our faith in the Lord), and our existance. Without that love, we are lost and forever doomed.
Do you agree?
