Hey guys,

I will most likely be going to Europe next june\july i want to tee it up so i am in Sweden for a home game.
Does anyone know where or when I can get check the schedule?

you should go and see it, they play a nice football  :)

@shedule...I guess you have to wait for it until next march, just before the season starts.

yeah nah id rather go to watch the real Assyrian team.
What you mean march? are you serious? im going to book my tickets way before then. Thats ridiculous.
 
I gotta admit, Syrianska FC does play some good football, and they have a good percentage of assyrian players, including the coach.

But, whats really cool is that Assyriska FF is on FIFA 2006, which I have, and I used the team to beat my friend once, but he sucked at the game so in essence I already won from the beginning

We can't count them as Assyrians, they refuse that name and refer to themselves as Syriac Aramaic with no strings to ancient Assyria. Sucks, but what can we do...

Yes but all of us are agreed to say that we are one people so this team is one of our teams and they play at a high level so lets enjoy the games  :wavetowel:

I used to be positive, but that was before reality struck me. And I can say that I'm not overly happy about this hate-hate relationship, it's like arguing "we are both humans, but they are muslims" if you think about it.

I've stopped visiting LT's webpage because of the depression that grows by every read comment there.

I'm from the Aramean-side but I have no problem if you say me that I'm an Assyrian or Chaldean. There are extremists on both sides. The most important thing to know is that we are one people and respect all the names and opinions.

Personally I find that both sides offer good arguments so I accept Assyrian and Aramean names. It's why I find that the Mesopotamian name is the best compromise. But it's the not the good topic to speak about that so I'll finish by saying that if you consider that we are only one people, you'll be happy to have that team  :shades:

You're one of few exceptions, not everybody respects the Assyrian name.
And as I said, I used to be happy back at the times we could visit both teams' games, but now that the Assyrian team is competing against the Syriac (and vice versa), have you followed how it has changed the fans and the two fractions?
Let me tell you by one memory of mine. I used to work in S?dert?lje last year, and I had a t-shirt with the Assyrian flag (not bought from AFF) and when I walked past four-six fifteen year old syriac girls on my way to work, they spat on the ground of disgust. My question is, why do you question my lack of positivity? Believe me, I want to see unity and a future for our people. I want to be positive.

I think that Sodetalje is an exception, I don't know why Assyrians and Arameans have so much hatred towards others but the majority of suryoye and Arameans still think that we are one people and consider Assyrians like East-Suryoye, so even we have different names, we still consider our ethnicity like one and for me it's the most important thing.

The problem is that Assyrians follow the Assyrian Empire argument and Arameans the Aram kingdoms and both side can prove their views but the biggest problem is that both sides have showed proofs that their name was used more than 1.000 years ago by the people so there is no concensus.

From my point of view we were influenced by both and more generally by all the civilizations of Mesopotamia so the mesopotamian name can be the solution but both sides are too proud to accept an other name and consider the other like a traitor  :bangin:

lol welcome welcome welcome my brother. keep in mind that the dates can change, but they are not likely to. when they do it is usually +- 1 day

Go to either one. Neither IFK and GIF have supporters coming to the arena.

Yes when Assyriska is written first it is always a homegame. That is why I excluded the two other games in July.
