You're right Jones, but shami is right, the Friday party usually isn't all that because you still have locals and people coming in, checking in, getting settled etc.  Saturday and definitely Sunday are the best parties.  That's why I chose Friday too as a day.

Shami we could take the train, its the cheapest and most convenient way of going so its an option as well. 

I'll update the thread with the options posted.

Yup, it will take 30 minutes to get downtown on the train. And it's cheap.

Rum the blue line goes to Wicker Park, Bucktown - I think the gang would like either (Wicker Park or Division/Ashland area).  Or you can switch to the Red and hit up Gold Coast, but that's mainly for the rich white people.  That would be one fun a** Friday night.

Oh, and for the ladies, if you want to go to some really insanely awesome boutiques - blue line all the way from your hotel to the area in Chicago which has tons of 'em.
 
Well, I'm up for whatever. As long as we have a good night.  I need to know where we are going so i can decide what to wear.

haha thanks W, I think I've got my fair share of CTA over the past couple of years :p

Wicker Park/ Division/Ashland is cool, but not so hot on Friday nights, Sat its good.  I was thinking we roll up to a nice lounge in downtown and hang out there.  There are a couple of bars and also some latin (salsa type music) lounges that the crew will definately like. 

As far as dress, I say a little more than casual, but not all out clubby, if that helps lol

Can't wait, one more week!

Well, last time at the chicago hotel, you had to show your badge before going up the elevator. San Diego convention, they didnt say anything.. so depends if they have security.

nicee! When are you gonnabe there? Im sure you can get day passes.. not sure how much. I'd just try to come to our room and see what they do. lol cuz you never know.

I am sure i can lol i am leaving monday i want to visit a week early and see  chitown cause i miss it and see my cuzins
 
Dinner might be moved to an earlier time since everyone will be attending the convention parties. Rum Rum will update you all later.

:/ but a lot of us dont get out of work till like  5 and dont get to home till 6:30. how early r u guys doing dinner???

the blue line is right there. i'll be there with u guys i know the blue line well since i take it to work.


Rumrum what about that one place we all went when Salem and Jacob were here i think its called the Joint LOL if im not wrong. that was a fun place ( well the ppl i was with were fun )

 
Umm ok hold that thought about the blue line i need to check with them and make sure they have nothing going on this weekend as in Construction  i'll let u know tomorrow.


If they do ( god willing they wont) they do have shuttle bus's that will take us from one stop to the next.

Robin, I sent you a text, you dont have to be registered to hang out at hotels, its a public place!  You might have to show your badge if you want to go to your rooms and definately at the parties/events, but those aren't in the hotel anyway.

Dalida, The hyatt is actually connected to the convention center.  So your walk to the parties will be much better! lol  Can I change in your room?  hehe  Only thing though, for the get together you may have to walk to us for a change :p

Everyone:  Talked to Maria about dinner.  We understand that its Friday and most of us may have work till 5pm or so.  I was thinking itinerary would be that we go to dinner around 7 or 8pm.  Hang out, then head back to the parties which won't end till 2am.  I am also in the works of getting a limo bus vs. CTA/trains etc.  If you don't know what that is, its basicially a shuttle bus but changed with limo-type seating on inside.  I can arrange a pick-up/drop off schedule which will honestly be the same price roughly as all taking cabs back and forth.  Up to you guys.  I will find out more information about this later tonight and update.

I'm 75% sure that I'll be available for the AVN gathering on friday night. Did you guys decide if it's option 1 or 2 yet?
 
Folks one last question about convention I promise. LOL
I have registred for the parties for me and my sister, where are we getting our ticket? Do we have to go to the convention center or the hotel! We are not staying at the hotel.

DuDu, it can be either place.  Usually its where all of the events are held, which is the convention center not hotel.  So you would go there and get your badges.

Dalida,  don't worry I won't crash, plus I know your roomate so I'm sure she won't mind too.  p.s. I got first dibs on the ironing board lol

OnPoint,  not sure but I will definately make a final confirmation tonight/tomorrow.  I'm shooting for tonight.  It's hard to coordinate everyone's schedule :/

Saddly, there is no line for that.  You can however jump into a cab with a many a  crazy nigerian, who will gladly take you there, if you can get in a couple of words during a lull in his bluetooth conversation with, I'm only assuming, the dethroned prince of nigeria who is looking for a safe place to deposit his millions.
