Hello and welcome to our website:
first of all we would like you to introduce yourself

PERSONAL QUESTIONS

-Name:

Rabel

-Nickname:

RebelRebel

-Sex/age/location:

M/22/Chicago

-Tell us about your life, what do you do in general? as well as your career education and career goals.

I'm a designer for web, print and video working for a glove manufacturer and freelancing for clients that I have acquired over the years with ProGarda, my small design firm.  In august I graduated Loyola University with a degree in design (print, web, multimedia) and drawing/painting.  I plan on doing some independent work at Oakton Community College this summer (Sculpture, drawing/painting, and philosophy) before moving on to my graduate work.

-How would you describe your city?

Cold in the winter and hot in the summer.  I love it though…theres always something to do and many places to go.  Everything is so close to each other and that’s very convenient.  Yet at the same time, it’s a busy city so you have to put up with traffic and parking, especially in the winter.  Also never go down Devon Ave. without bumping some punjabi musicJ

"Real love is a figment of the imagination awaken by the mind.  Fake love is a response to emotion carried by infatuated senses."

-What are you thankful for the most?

My dad.

-Your personality in few words?
Rabel

-How do you distinguish between real love and love as a word only (i.e fake love)

Real love is a figment of the imagination awaken by the mind.  Fake love is a response to emotion carried by infatuated senses.  Let me explain myself before this leads to misconceptions.  Real love comes from the intellect and then the heart, where as fake love first comes from the heart first and is tainted by insecurities and the sense to belong.

-Is it the personality or good looks that attract you to Assyrian girls? Or maybe a combination of both.

Intellect + and a nice a--

-What do you base your decision making on the most: intuition or feelings?

Intuition.  Feelings are inconsistent.  Intuition is a power that is built on knowledge and nothing more.  What is it to feel anyway?  Everyone that spends there time feeling usually gets caught up in there own selves.

-Do you believe in reincarnation? what do you think happens after death?

Death is irrelevant.

CHAT QUESTIONS

-Do you remember the first day for you on the chat, and who told you about it?

I remember the first time time I chatted was on Nineveh on-line under the name rebel.

-Every chatter is unique with certain charatarestics that define them, but there are some qualities that are shared by almost all chatters (i.e having a nickname) What other qualities do you think are shared by all chatters?

A relentless drive to being bored.  I get amused when I see people taking the time to post something like…UFFF I’m Bored.  Just the fact that your going online, logging into the forums section of AVN, and posting something like that.  I amused me.

-Assyrian Voice offers many services but the chat and the forums are the most popular: which one of the two do you think are the most valuable.

Forums.  The reason I say that is because they give a person the ability to express there ideas in a manner that exposes there personality.

-What do you think of the recent addition of the Discussion Forums to our website, with more than 470 members already registered?

I think it’s a great idea.

-Speaking of the forums, are you at all suprised that this many people registered in just a few months, and better yet got used to the place?

They registed because there was no other place for young Assyrian adults to go and discuss.

-Do you think a chatter has any natural rights? can you find any of these rights in AV's chatters Code of Ethics and Conduct (aka Terms of Use)

Humans have natual rights….chatters on the other hand have rights that are defined by the humans that write the code of ethics and conduct.  Too difficult to comprehend?

-AVN has a big fan and use base in Detroit. Any plans to organize a get-together for chatters there?

There should a chance for chatters to get together and meet each other…either in Chicago or detroit

-Speaking of chatters gatherings, do you think it is AV’s reponsibility to hold them, or the responsibility of chatters in each city?

I think it’s AV’s responsibility.  The chatters met using AV’s resources and so it should catter to the chatters requests if funding is available.

-What did you think of the recent “Ultimate Assyrian Voice Year Book” for 2003 which contained the names of more than 500 chatters that have frequented this chat on a regular basis or in the last year or so.

The best way to put a person that is bored to work…great job ASHOOR :)  On the real… I think it was an amazing job.  I was surprised to see eveyones name on there…almost everyone ;)

-what comes to your mind when you first hear these three nicknames:

Hookah, Brown Eyes, Assyrianskipper

Nothing

-Assyrian Voice has been invading every country out there where Assyrians live, Iraq, Iran and Russia being the latest. What are some of the implications of this?

I don’t think there are any implications.  It’s a great thing, although you might need more help administrating the site if it continues to spread worldwide.

-What is the biggest topic that has ever been discussed on the message board? Whether it was a real topic or just a controversy?

The virginity/ having sex subject…it’s always a reoccurring topic.  Get laid already!  It’s not that big of a deal.

-Now that the year 2004 is here, who do you think was the:

most controversial member on the website:  Mariam Y

most popular:  xBeLLaMaFIax

least popular compared to previous years: me!

smartest:  SydneyGuy, Bani the Primitive, rumrum81

most intresting posts:  Anything that dealt with relationships and sex

nicest:  MissPeachy…im basing it on her little pic…she’s looks like a sweetheart.

-If there is anything that distinguishes Chicago chatters from other chatters, what would it be. Bearing in mind that Chicago chatters have a big representation at AV

There slang…feel?

-For the past 30 days or so (this is a new feature) on the website:

what has been hot:  The forums and photo albums

what has been not:  Assyrians

-Do you think our hiring of more admins. in the chat and forums is the reason for the big decrease in trouble and bad behavior? Or there is another reason for it?

Yea, I think by hiring the right people to administer the chat and forum section has reduced the bad behavior.  And that has filtered the immature users from the mature ones….it’s an effective way of being aggressive and seeing results.

ASSYRIANS RELATED QUESTIONS

-When all this Iraq thing is said and done, what will Assyrians have gained by then?

The expectancy of our rights.

-As one of Iraq’s main ethnic groups, how should Assyrians establish their relationship with the other ethnic groups while still maintaining its status as a recognized ethnic group living within a united Iraq? In other words, how transparent will the overlap be between the two?

By forming in one area, the Assyrian population of Iraq can grow and yet be involved with the current sociopolitical issues surrounding them.  The Assyrian population needs to gain the respect of it’s neighbors by acquiring it….not waiting for it to be handed down.  It should be a relationship based on mutual interest and an ideology that benefits both parties.

-Should our name change or remain as "Assyrian"?

Our name should EVOLVE based on the input gained by the major Assyrian population in current day Iraq, syria, turkey, and iran.  Its’ up to the people to choose what they want….not political parties.

-Do you have any plans to save our language?

Every Tuesday from 7:30 to 10:00 there teaching non-credit classes at Oakton Community College.  The first step involves signing up.

-Someone on the message board once said that “we are the biggest threat to our existence…”: that is, Assyrians themselves are the only one who will bring their fall and extinction as a nation.  Do you agree?

No.  The reason is because not everything is in our hands.

-Do you see a lot of Assyrians going back to their homeland now that Saddam has been removed?

I hope so.  If not I would like to see a lot of Assyrians invest in there fore fathers land.  Investment is the only way of making a prominent existence in our homeland.  I look at it this way…if someone doesn’t like me…I will buy him.  It’s as simple as that.

-Who do you see as an ideal leader for Assyrians at this time?

Someone educated.  Someone that is preferably in good relations with all political parties.  I think that Dr. Emmanuel Kamber is a good start…if not him then Hikmat Hakim.

-A lot of people have proposed a union between Assyrians and Chaldeans, wher
