Just read this on Ankawa

Kurdish authorities in the city of Arbil, despite the vocal criticism from some Kurds themselves, have given the name of 'Simko Shak', the killer of the late Assyrian patriarch Mar Biniamin, to a street in Arbil.

From Wikipedia:
"He was born in 1887 in the village of Qochanis in the Hakkari Province, Ottoman Empire (modern-day southeastern Turkey). He was consecrated a Metropolitan on March 1, 1903 by Mar Shimun XVIII of Rubil, the Catholicos Patriarch who died on March 16, 1903. He succeeded his predecessor at the age of eighteen and occupied the patriarchal See of Seleucia-Ctesiphon at Qudchanis for 15 years. In March, 1918, Mar Benyamin along with 150 of his bodyguards were assassinated by Simko Shikak (Ismail Agha Shikak), a Kurdish agha, in the town of Salmas (Persia) under a truce flag"

Strangely, though he was a Kurd, he wasn't from Iraq. He was from Iran and probably never lived in Iraq.

not only that, he also killed a Ottoman Agha named Cewer (Jawar)....
went to war against Iran, and instigated the death of 1,000 in Salmas, also he also took part in the killings in Khoi
there's a good reason Simko was assassinated himself - (OH SH** KARMA!)

Simoko Agha is not only a person for the Kurds. They consider him as legend and why they named a street after him is not supprising me.

well he was kinda bushi of him self, since he had bigger problems than Mar chamoun. He had Iran and Turkey and even Iraq against him, why did he want to kill us I dont know. I also have heard that he came to Sheik Abdusalam al Barzani or maybe Mella Mustafa Barzani and talked to him about mar chamoun and Barzani had told him to not kill Mar choumon and he didnt get anysport of Barzani at that time...

Was "Saddam Husein street" a close second?

Ahh, I see... So that's why they didn't name it after Saddam Hussein. Makes sense. It is in Arabic!

Imad Youkhana (Member of Assyrian Democratic Movement) calls for the Kurdistan Regional Government to remove the street named after an Iranian personal.

The MP from the Al-Rafidain list Imad Youkhana on Tuesday considered that naming a street in the Christian town of Ankawa, in Arbil of an Iranian Kurdish person "is in contempt of the religious symbols of Christians ," and urged the Kurdistan Regional Government to remove this street name. Youkhana said in a statement issued today, and "Alsumaria News" received a copy , "The Kurdistan Regional Government has named a street at the entrance to the Christian city of Ankawa in Arbil as Simco Chakaki ," noting that "this name belong to Kurdish Iranian person whose hands are stained with the blood of the martyr Benyamin Shimun, Patriarch of Church of the East and 150 CaldoAssyrian people with treacherous operations" as he put it . Youkhana considered that "this step disregard of Christian symbols", calling for " respect for all religious and national symbols ." Youkhana demanded Government of the Territory to "remove the sign that holds the name of the street immediately and replace it with a piece bearing the name of the martyr Saint Benyamin Shimun in restitution to the Christians", noting that "the Al-Rafidain list, after consultation with the Christian clergy have contacted the government officials in the region to remove this name and substituting it"

Even after the fall of Nineveh (612BC) The Assyrians lived under their own law, they had their own autonomy under the different names such as Athura, Adiabene and Asuristan. It lasted till the 7th century AD.

Sennacherib II(2), was an Assyrian Governor or 'king' of northern Asuristan in 372 AD.

According to the article on 10/21/13 Suraya News:: Met with Mr. Lashkoor Saeed Ali, Director of the Municipal Services in Arbil, about the matter of the street named after the murderer Simko and was asked about his knowledge to which he replied "Honestly, I do not know much about the history of this man and did not know that his hands were stained with the killing of innocent people, but we know the necessity of lifting the sign that bears his name of this street from the previous night, but me being busy with other administrative matters prevented it. But I promise you that today between eight o'clock and ten o'clock at night we would remove the name of the street in question."

The Kurds will get pounded by Baghdad soon.

Baghdad couple days ago just received 40 modern attack helicopters and 50+ PantsirS1 from the Russians. - Worth 4.5 Billion dollars.

and within a couple months, Iraqi military will receive F-16's

BAGHDAD, April 29 (Reuters) - Iraq will receive the first 24 of 36 F-16 fighter jets it has ordered from the United States at the beginning of 2014, a senior official told Reuters on Sunday.

As Maliki said... Wait for the F-16's to solve the 'Kurdish Issue' ;)

I am hearing that ADM (Specifically from the ADM-member Imad Youkhana) Is now making the KRG take down Simko's name from Duhok.

This is true, especially Malaki, he is about giving Kurds not only headaace but also threating Kurds constantly the only problem here is, The iraqis are not unified, most of other groups especially Al-Hakim and Al-Sadir are backing up the Kurds.
