"WTMJ-TV's Diane Pathieu heading back home to Chicago"
« on: November 10, 2011, 09:44:33 PM »

Pathieu's parents came to the United States as teenagers. Her mother comes from Syria and her father is from Lebanon. She is a first-generation American and grew up speaking English and Assyrian. She said her hiring is "a big deal for the Assyrian community" in Chicago, "and the fact that we're getting representation on local TV is really exciting. I hope to make them proud."

From what I've read she seems like an awesome person. Great role model.

For Pathieu, working here has been a lifelong ambition. “My goal has always been to one day work in my hometown of Chicago,” she told Assyrian Voice editor Ashur Sada in an interview last summer. “I’ve wanted to be in the television news business since I was a little girl, so I began to pursue it right away after high school. I don’t know why I was so passionate about news, but I was, and it’s been an incredible journey.”

Great news and happy to see Diane going back to her hometown of Chicago, where she will not only be back with the family but also in a city that can make Assyrians very proud.

And very nice to see that website referencing the interview we did with her which you can read here: (thanks SyriacOrthodoxAssyrian for bringing it to our attention)

Most importantly, she is leaving Milwaukee (Packer country, yuk!) to head back to Bears country!  :)
