mrzurnaci, aren't some of those Sumerian inventions/creations? I know Babylonians and Assyrians are essentially the same people, but I always learned that Sumerians were different, with their own unrelated language. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
Also under food you can add that we were the first to cultivate the sesame, most likely resulting in the first to make tahini. And yes I learned that while researching the origins of hummos.
Too much free time I guess. We may have even been the first people to make hummos, due to our cultivation and use of chickpeas in the ancient cuisine, but I haven't seen proof of that yet. I'm just making the logical leap that since all the ingredients of hummos were popular and used in Assyrian cuisine, we may have created that dish as well.
