Chit Chat / Half assyrians count as one of many assyrians?
« Last post by Nemrud on Yesterday at 03:18:48 AM »
Hi all, as the topic says, does half assyrians count as one of many assyrians in numbers, for example there are 2-4 million assyrians in the world, are half assyrians one of many?

AlSO, if they count as assyrians will they also count as the other halfs population as well? let say someone is half assyrian and half iranian, then he count as assyrian and iranian in their populations?

MY MOTHER'S HANDS

I sit across from you
and watch your hands
lie still in your lap
brown and dry
the skin stretched
across a fan of bones
like the wings of a bird
long dead in the desert
I try to decipher
the cuneiform of age
of pain
of love
sketched intricatally
in the thin skin
which will soon turn into dust.

Mrzurnaci, can l put you as friend in facebook? I am curious in your progress of making a standard syriac, also, are there other people making this?

I agree with you mrzurnaci, we should and will create a standard syriac by taking the best words of both the western and eastern syriac, as for the script, we should use one script, estrangelo, because its the script both churches use.

Who agrees?

There was this couple that had been married for 20 years.

Every time they made love the husband always
insisted on shutting off the light.

Well, after 20 years the wife felt this was ridiculous.

She figured she would break him out of this crazy habit.

So one night, while they were in the middle of a
wild, screaming, romantic session, she turned on the lights.

She looked down... and saw her husband was holding a
battery-operated pleasure device... a vibrator!

Soft, wonderful and larger than a real one.

She went completely ballistic.

"You impotent bastard," She screamed at him, "how could you be lying to me all of these years?

You better explain yourself!"

The husband looks her straight in the eyes and says calmly:

"I'll explain the toy . . . you explain the kids."

Good joke.

They can just say "we're Assyrians", unless if they're asked where they're born in.

Good opinion and good response.
