Free_Assyria  if you look at the posts I didn't start this I just asked if there were going to be Chaldean dialect speakers on the show.

And actually Hanuni Syriac is referred to as a dialect of the language Aramaic. Then Syriac is further split into East and West. Madhenhaya/Swadaya is the east and Ma'erboyo/Turoyo as the west. Then you can also say that the East is split into Assyrian and Chaldean.

So basically if you want to say Assyrian, it's not a language it's a dialect of another dialect of a language. It's fully Assyrian East Syriac Aramaic. The root is Aramaic not Assyrian.

No actually not.

Syriac merely refers to the liturgal language used in church. Modern neo-Aramaic is our Assyrian language we use daily which is also split in a western and eastern dialect. However this is off-topic.
“Their enemies had realized their national potential long before the Assyrians themselves. The enemy was not afraid of good farmers, good parents, good church-going parishioners...the enemy was afraid of Assyrians wrapped in nationhood.”

You started it akhoni ;)
Look it up Syriac is a dialect of Aramaic. It splits into East and West. Within the East there are  Assyrian and Chaldean sub divisions. All together its called Chaldean Neo Aramaic or Assyrian Neo Aramaic. There is no east and west Assyrian or Assyrian language.

Syriac is a language of Aramaic. It is different from Assyrian Neo-Aramaic. Read some of Geoffrey Khans work.

Syriac is split into a western and eastern dialect, though more or less identical.

Assyrian Neo-Aramaic is split into our modern western and eastern dialect.

Lmfaoooo Geoffrey Khan's work? you mean a guy's opinion? Hahaha

Why don't you look at the official website of the Peshltta? Or do your own research? It's extremely obvious that Syriac is a dialect of Aramaic split into east and west. Then the east is split into Assyrian Neo Aramaic and Chaldean Neo Aramaic.

As stated earlier by a user, you just lost every sort of credibility you might of had. I'm guessing you're not an academic.

Well, there are people who WANT that there is a difference, and they are often not ready to recognize that they want that. They are looking for anything which they can call "difference", so the difference exists in their imagination.

These people may have prejudices, or grew up with prejudices towards "the others". Such guys create e.g. topics like "Chaldean vs. Assyrian dialect"  or so. So they should try to analyze their thoughts/opinions/views and see them in the context of an education which goes in the necessary depth and width to solve their own personal problems with this topic.

No it was you who started the whole language issue, you wanted to say that there is no Assyrian language right?

Well there is, Im speaking it every single day, Shlomo eboh ahuno ;)

We dont know yet if they are going to speak the "Chaldean" dialect how big is the difference? I thouht Chaldeans mostly spoke Arabic? But I know that they are going to use the Western and the Eastern dialect, dont worry they are going to use subtitle in English so that everyone understands

Nearly one thousand Assyrians in Sweden gathered on Sunday [12 February 2012]  to inaugurate a new internet TV channel called Assyria-TV.

The occasion also marked the annual commemoration of the Assyrian journalist and national hero Naum Faik (1868-1930), a founding father of Assyrian nationalism.

Assyria TV is managed by an democratically elected board and funded by the Assyrian Federation of Sweden and its member associations across the country.
