Most Saddest Songs?
« on: October 25, 2015, 01:26:08 AM »
As inspired by this thread, which is its 10 year anniversary today: http://www.assyrianvoice.net/forum/index.php?topic=5635.0

Fall Again - Michael Jackson (Robin Thicke and Glenn Lewis have also made a powerful cover)
If You Go Away - Tom Jones (also a song that was covered by many other big name artists)
Inconsolable - Backstreet Boys
Adagio - Lara Fabian
It's Not Goodbye - Laura Pausini
Jealous - Labrinth
I Miss You - Enrique Iglesias
Say My Name - Within Temptation
My Immortal - Evanescence
Lost Without You - Delta Goodrem
Knife - Rockwell
From Sarah With Love - Sarah Connor

What are yours?

It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change. - Charles Darwin

I've listened to Prashta before, but I have no idea what it is about.
Can you give me a partial translation?

Can you give me a partial translation?

It's a bit too poetic and abstract to have a literal meaning, so I'll try my best:

0:16 - Because I liked you, I would leave you
I would live a life of misery, far way from you

0:31 - Only when I eventually forget my country, and then I will forget you

1:03 - I part from you (not sure what she says here - I understood "heart" and "fire", didn't understand the context)
1:18 - Let me die with my misery and pain, but only you can live with honor

1:49 - Whether I love you or not, live with me until I find you bothersome (or "even if I find you bothersome" - not too sure)
2:05 - The flowers of my beauty remained crushed. So how do you expect me to give you crushed flowers?

2:36 - (Something about her dream coming true?)...go back to Nineveh and preach my message of peace
2:51 - When you're lying in her arms, close your eyes and think of me

3:22 - (Don't understand this one?)
3:38 - (Something about the daughter of Ashur drinking something bitter...?)

I cry over anything and everything, but songs about returning home and keeping above water leave me crying about longer than normal.  :blush2:

Vitas sings so pretty, too. Double the emotional.
Finally!

I like Vitas (he's Russian), but my god he sounds so awkward singing in English. Lol.

I love his The Star song btw.
