EDIT: I can animate it too :)

That would be great man! Anything we can do to improve this section would be a great favor to all those coming here to learn the Assyrian/Syriac language.

Thanks.

Ashoor

So animate it just continuously going round and round somewhat slowly or make it sudden and transitional, similar to a revolver gun.

Just a question more out of ignorance than anything, but is there also a Lunar calendar followed by any Assyrian groups that isn't the Hijri calendar? Or are there Assyrian names for the Arab lunar months? Thanks!

Assyrian Calendar is lunar-based but this isn't Hijri based, it's based on the old Babylonian Calendar.

Uh, what? Since when? Please explain.

There are indeed Assyrianized names for the Arab months, they were used in dating after the Islamic conquest among other reckonings: Greek/Seleucid, Mongol, whatever random king happened to be alive at the time, and so on. Nowadays, everybody just uses a solar-based Georgian or Julian calendar (depending on church affiliations).

Where does it say the calendar is lunar-based? I must've missed that.
