New Forum section: "Serious Discussions"
« on: October 05, 2009, 01:06:00 PM »
I just thought the forum lacked a section for those serious discussions and topics, which are neither general chit-chat, nor are they news or politics related.

We needed a section for serious discussions about life, love, society and anything else that doesn't belong.

So please make an effort to put your topics in this new section if you think they belong there.

Too many sections results in fewer postings in each forum.  Serious + News should be in the same category.
"January 2010, the nail in the coffin, the day Zowaa will die." Hilarious prediction posted by "chaldean."
March 2010: Zowaa wins 3 out of 5 seats in the Iraqi Parliament!

I did think about that, and as with everything else, it is only as a trial.

The other idea was to rename "News and Current Events' to "Serious Discussions and Current Events', but then it wouldn't seem appropriate to discuss serious life issues, in the same section where you discuss politics for example.

The other idea I have is to merge the "Business and Money" with the "Science and Technology" and call it "Business and Technology"

Science would naturally go under the new 'Serious Discussions' section

So we would end up with the same number of forum sections.

I didn't know there was a quota for each forum?   I like the split, kudos Ashoor, good idea.

To some, chit-chat isn't always about "xyz spam thread"...but what if they want to talk about current events or something that's bothering them... kinda hard to weed it all out nowadays.

So, then what's the chit-chat forum for besides the random silly little discussions we have every so often?

A lot of those serious topics about life or whatever are good for chit-chat. They make up most of chit-chat anyways.
I find out who sprayed it, and I'm puttin' you under the pavement. No Buddhist priest, Catholic or Baptist pastor can save him. I'm far from religious, but I got beliefs. So, I put canary yellow diamonds on my Jesus piece. - Game
